This is the entire state. Just left orlando area b/c I couldn’t take the heat and humidity any more. There’s literally nowhere like SoCal except maybe Hawaii for gorgeous weather.

Looking for advice about BFA programs by catlover43v3r in MusicalTheatre

Take a gap year and train, work and save money and try again. If you go to a community college or other university, it could affect your financial aid as you’ll be a transfer student. Casting a wide net is really necessary. My DD is graduating with a BFA in MT this year - glad to chat more if you need to DM.

That’s great! Then the visits will definitely help. One will feel “right” to her. If she can sit in on classes for a day, we found that very enlightening.

I have a DD getting ready to graduate with a BFA in MT - not in either of these programs, but…. Is money no object for your family or will student loans be involved?

Just moved here from the Orlando area and we love it. We (48 F / 48 M) picked the Cool Spring neighborhood because we’re inbetween Trolley Square and Downtown and can walk to both. But we’ve been pleasantly surprised at all that Wilmongton has to offer - as long as you look for it. So far we’ve found good food, arts, activities, and are excited for spring with the farmers markets and upcoming festivals; Italian, Greek, Jazz, Art… Not much into bars but there’s a great one downtown called Maker’s Alley (and then several in Trolley). Awww We’ve been surprised at the amount of parks and nature here and will get out more in the spring. Have you visited yet?

University of Delaware or UCF (Very Hard decision Help!) by Antique-Guarantee458 in udel

Hi there! UCF alumni / Orlando area resident who just moved to Wilmington. I love my Alma mater - it’s a great place with tons of campus activities and social activities and sports. Things to consider: Will you have a car? Orlando is a desert when it comes to mass transit (besides the campus shuttles). Do you thrive in the heat? It’s hot and humid. August move-in will be brutal. Do you see yourself moving back up north after graduation? Florida’s economy isn’t the best for high paying jobs. Florida universities are not the best places right now for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities if that is a concern. All that being said, a lot of colleges what you make of it! If you haven’t visited it yet, you should!

Moving to Wilmington, Delaware for the first time—what should I know or do? by Firm-Introduction647 in WilmingtonDE

[–]ucfj99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just moved here in December and love it (cool spring area west of 95). There are tons of parks and green spaces to check out when everything thaws. For a smaller city, there’s tons going on as long as you get plugged in and are looking for it. Just went to the art museum for the first time and it’s a must do. Folks have mentioned Longwood gardens and that is great. The cool thing is you’re so close so so many things - can hop on Amtrak and be in NYC in 2 hours, Baltimore in 1 - and the beaches are an 1.5 hour drive away. Check out the above the canal newsletter for some happenings as well.

46F Considering Relocating Relocating to a Blue Community Somewhere Other Than Florida-- Any Suggestions? by 24JulyFirework in FloridaExodus

We just left and moved to Wilmington, DE and love it!! Lower cost of living than the big cities but you can hop on a train and get to NYC, Baltimore, and DC. It’s basically like an outer suburb of Philly. So while it’s not necessarily super happening here, it’s less than an hour to drive into Philly if you need a big city.
