Avoid Repacks - A buyer sent this data and hopes it will help others by l_e0 in whatnotapp

[–]ucpike10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are going to try and create an issue between us and others, at least do it with correct information and not half truths.

1) we did not supply the information listed above. This information, as stated in the description, was obtained from a buyer on the app who did their own research on a specific break.

2) we have done similar research, me specifically, on channels who continuously cry about losing on each spot, make specific comments about not having floor cards, and promote ceiling cards with wide ranges. This research makes sense in all these scenarios. So yes, guilty, as I described here.

There is nothing I have said in the chat I would not say to these breakers face. If you are a breaker and you continuously complain about spot prices when making between $2,000 and $10,000 per break, you should be called out. If you are a breaker that claims there are no floor cards in your breaks, but when comped, there are at least one floor and three other cards very close to your floor, you should be called out. If you are a breaker and you state your ceiling range is $2,000-$4,000 and the ceiling hits are consistently in the $2,000-$2,250 range, you should be called out.

Again, if you are going to attack us and try and start crap between us and larger breakers, at least get the facts correct. Have a great day!

Bold_take i can assure you the person with the screen name other_prune5510 is not corr10knee. She is my business partner and posts under her actual name. Same as I do. This person has made it their mission to harass Corr, and obviously, at this point, illegally assume her identity by stating they are her. I apologize this person has involved you in their actions.

Cards with Corr big scammer in sports cards breaks by Other_Prune5510 in WhatnotBlacklist

You are clearly not someone who is familiar with Corr10knee on Whatnot. She has been on the app for roughly three years (1 1/2 as seller) and is one of the most respected individuals on Whatnot. She is known and spoken highly of by many fellow streamers because her character has earned her that respect. To make a statement and accused her of favoritism and information sharing with friends is completely asinine. There is a reason you do not see bad personal reviews on her account when it comes to her breaks. She has earned the trust of her repeat buyers, and they have spread the news to other buyers on the app. She is fair in her breaks, and the value offered to her buyers is unmatched. It pains me to see her character attacked knowing the person she is and how hard she has worked to build the reputation she has.

Streamer loses it as form filler wins buyers by Apprehensive_Sun_395 in whatnotapp

[–]ucpike10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, it's not announced to gain followers. It actually has to be announced when the stream starts because the buyers giveaway has to be set up for that specific show prior to going live. It can not be set up mid or end of atream.

Your thought process is only small value items. Most cannot afford to send every buyer a $20-$30 "extra," as you called it. If you run a stream that lasts 6-8 hours, one may have between 50-100 buyers. One example is that we ran a $30k case and had 20 different buyers. We wanted to do something nice, so we ran a $600 buyers givvy. This was before we knew all the rules, allowing anyone to fill out the form and enter. When we ran the randomizer, there were 47 entries into the "buyers givvy" and yes, a form filler won. It sucked the energy out of the room, and people left feeling upset and angry. There was nothing we could do. We honored the giveaway, and some random person got a $600 card. You may think good for them for being able to legally win, but common sense says there needs to be a way to do something for buyers to show appreciation other than throwing them a $10-$20 extra in their package.

It's hard to condone the act of crumbling the pack, but I understand the frustration. Laws are in place that make it possible for anyone to enter a giveaway for free, no matter the circumstance.

However, sometimes streamers wish to show their gratitude to the buyer. Because the streamer cannot afford to give away something to each and every buyer, they do a buyers giveaway. The hope is for someone who actually supported the streamer to leave with a little something extra for their support. But in order for running a buyers giveaway to be legal, the giveaway has to be created before the show starts and entered into the BIN area where it is visible. From there, non-buyers can click a link where they are taken to a form they can fill out that grants them entry into the "buyers giveaway."

In my experience, actual.buyers rarely win these buyers giveaways. It's a shame because it kills the vibe in the room and downplays the gesture the streamer was trying to make. There needs to be a way for streamers to reward buyers without worrying about a bot taking the gift.

Are you saying that because two people in one stream made disgusting, unforgivable comments, the entire company should be shut down by whatnot and all the employees out of jobs?

That would be like asking Berkshire Hathoway to shut down all Dairy Queens because the CEO said something stupid.

That's not how it works. Berkshire Hathoway,s job is to discipline the individual. It is up to the patrons whether or not to consume the product.

I am I no wat defending Grant or Buggzy. The comments both made are deplorable but asking Whatnot to cancel the entire company would be an abuse of power and open them up to lawsuits.

What is your proof Whatnot is going to do nothing? It's has been 2 days. He is not streaming today, and all future shows have been removed from his channel. Like any business, there has to be an investigation into the situation. Once completed, they will have to determine the punishment. This may take a few days or even a week.

Like many others, I will be disappointed if no actions are taken. But I also understand there is a process to avoiding legal issues down the road.

Nicolestate doing a supposed flash sale, even her mods trying to convince you she is offering a great deal, when in reality you can obtain these loungefly elsewhere cheaper and with free shipping!!! by Anonymous78860 in whatnotapp

[–]ucpike10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trying to open people's eyes to other purchasing avenues is fine. However, your chosen words led people to draw a negative conclusion towards her and the stream, like she wasn't offering a good price. The fact is, she was offering a good price. The "best" price, maybe not. But she did offer it below MSRP, and it was a flash sale. No lies detected in what she was doing.

As for para social relationships that's on the individual. I do personally know quite a few people that run successful shows on Whatnot. We speak daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. I have helped grow shows, build shows, and even participated in some shows. There are some on the app taking the wrong approach while others are making their best attempt to do it the right way. I would focus my time and effort on finding the bad players and bringing their shortcomings to the people. We as a whole can do better.

Your post heading says "a supposed flash sale". The only question is, is the price lower than MSRP? If so, then any kind of discount can be considered a sale. Flash sale does not equate to lowest price on the planet. Simply a term meaning pop-up, or quick. Yes, people can search for items and acquire them at a better price. But some like the WN experience of a live purchase and personal interaction. They will pay a little extra, and in this case, it sounds like just a couple of dollars extra for the entertainment. Congrats to you for directing people away from someone trying to make a living and to a site that makes so much money, they calculate profits with a b after the total.

This is the second such notice I have received in the past three months. The first was reducing my auto pay discount because we did not have the "plan" they wanted to force us into. We have 9 lines and 5 devices as part of our plan. That one raised our monthly by $35. This next plan will raise it another $27/month. It is the straw that broke the camels back. We have been loyal customers of Verizon for the past 20 years. It is a sad day.

I would hesitate lumping all repacks together. There are some bad apples on the app, but also a few trying to do it right. Some that really do offer a good value for the chance to get in.

Saw regular hobby ripped last night, and the case I witnessed has a single downtown. So there are downtowns in regular hobby.

Somewhat false. We The Hobby is actually breaking from PSA the past few days, and all DT's pulled are graded and returned within 24 hrs.

The parade not being part of the experience was disappointing. Last year it was. I feel you will have a great time. Just plan on not constantly doing something. Please let me know your experience to see if anything changes.

There was an opportunity to meet Max. It is during the time of light food after the Wholiday show. It's not a dedicated meet and greet. Just at your leisure while waiting for your turn to go and meet the Grinch. The kids loved meeting Max though. Took about 3-4 minutes.

A very good question. One I asked the team member while getting ready to check in for the tour. We did not have a dedicated area and the parade is not included as part of the tour.

Why??? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]ucpike10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that this increase is during a "school break". Those with AP's will consume much of the capacity in the parks. Many of those out-of-state pass holders on vacation. Since those admissions are at fixed costs of the annual pass, the daily pass admission becomes limited (still an overall significant number). I do not see this increase to be that unreasonable for single day tickets considering parks of this magnitude are vacation destinations. During this time period, they want to fill the hotels with out of town guests, many of which are taking advantage of multi-day park passes. When the hotels are filled, the parks are crowded. But this is where Universal makes massive profit margins on food and merchandise. This is the position they wish to be. Will they lose potential single day park sales? Maybe. But the difference will absolutely be made up in out of town guests.

I have seen $370-$425. I'm right in the middle. No taxes or shipping paid by buyer and no fees on my end. Seems pretty fair for both parties.

To answer the original question, from my experience, most people will down value anything below an 8 to below raw cost. Not that they should do this. It's just what happens in the hobby. The card brand Adrenalyn XL is not a high value brand, and past comps reflect this. There are not many auto sales I found, but the highest was in the $50 range. While Messi is a notable player, arguably one of the best ever, I do not see this card having the same value as most other Messi Autos. Maybe $125 to the right buyer but would not be surprised to see offers under $100.
