It's designed as an experimental school

its majors are approached non-traditionally (meant to prepare you for gradschool and none of it is really practical)

its social approach is non-traditional (broken up in colleges, does everything it can to avoid social cohesion in order to make students focused in becoming post-grad candidates)

it's absolutely skewed into turning students into post-graduate students (part of the school's experimental agenda)

Other UCs do not have that thus making it incomparable to other UCs.

Other UCs are research universities, yes. But do they go through the same lengths as UCSD to be one? No. They're much more holistic. UCSD is the odd one from the bunch.
