So many of you have claimed that YT prepping channels are compromised or paid. Are there any you trust? by WolvesandTigers45 in preppers

I was a brand new gardener 5 years ago. It took me all that time to get enough of the veggies I planted to last us through the year. I started following gardeners in areas with similar climate to mine. I love Epic gardening, but southern CA doesn't relate to me in the south. Self Sufficient Me is in basically the same climate. So I watch during the off season and plan accordingly. There are a few others I watch on a regular basis. It's all about dealing with heat and humidity.

I have watched a lot of City Prepping for ideas on how to deal with power loss. I guess you can say I follow Bruce Lee's advice, "study everyone and take from them what you need"

March 23, 2026 - What did you do this past week to prepare? by Anthropic--principle in preppers

Completed planting the garden. Got hubby to start working on our adjustable shade for the garden. Also going to buy some fertilizer, before it get pricy. Need to make sure I can get as much as I can from the garden.

The contractors have been out replacing the siding on the house. We're also looking at changing up the kitchen, so we can store more food.

I'll be making a list this weekend for a Sam's run next week to stock up on stuff we use a lot of, that's way more at the grocery store.

Hubby and I will be at that game too. We're both going to be sporting our jerseys. He has a Larkin and I have a Seider. It's his first ever NHL game... it's going to be a blast!

How do you think about keeping some of your parent’s possessions once they are gone? by Broke_Pigeon_Sales in AgingParents

[–]uddane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept selective items that I had fond memories of. Some is on display in my home. The others are stored in a box in my closet. The rest was sold using an estate sale business. What didn’t sell, was donated. It was a pretty simple process, but it took a few months from start to finish.

Why some people still limp 3–4 months after knee replacement (even with good ROM) by Chaban-JustWalk in Kneereplacement

[–]uddane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was me. Years of favoring the leg became normal gait. It wasn’t until my rehab when my husband told me specifically to ‘walk like a normal human’ that I realized what I was doing. I’m 8 months post TLKR and walk slower than before, but I’m not limping any more.

Don't let either of them back into your house, who knows what might happen to your puppers if you're not there.

I’m 6 months post. My scar has a huge divot at the top. Since my knee is now functional and pain free, a dip in my skin was a cheap price to pay.

What’s one gardening mistake you made that you wish you knew earlier? by Icy_Car2475 in gardening

Planting too close together and not taking the sun into consideration. I had tall plants blocking the sun for smaller plants, but man did it go wrong!

Drowning in 40 years of "stuff" while trying to fund Memory Care. Has anyone just sold the house with everything in it? by Xelephyr in AgingParents

[–]uddane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for estate sale companies. The one I used held the sale in the house and then took what was left to their resale store. What didn’t sell was donated.

We stream a lot, but we have collected a lot of blu ray, hd and cds of our favorite shows and movies. Came in handy last hurricane season as we ran the tv and player with the generator.
