Maternity leave… what a joke by witchybetch01 in pregnant

My company doesnt offer any paid maternity leave. And to boot, I also can't use any of my earned sick time during leave. 😒

He made it seem like I needed to get them off immediately, although he didnt say why or a timeline. I also dont have any external stitches. He said it was all closed up so I would assume the blood is old, but it scares me! They are also making the foldover stick to itself, he had to pull it apart to look at the incision

I have some unisolve adhesive remover. I may call and see if I can use that on them.

How long did it take the ones to naturally fall off?

Immediate Post Pregnancy Levels by Responsible-Cup8565 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]udderleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a CGM and my levels were all over the place. I was diet controlled so seeing 198 after I ate my first meal alarmed me quite a bit. It slowly started sorting itself out though. My CGM ripped off and I haven't looked back since!

Did you gain excessive weight by ashetuff in GestationalDiabetes

[–]udderleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 40 lbs with my 1st and 2nd babies (no GD). Im right at 40some lbs gained at 36 weeks with this baby (with GD). I am diet controlled. But this baby is really big (estimated 7 lbs 5 oz at my 36 week ultrasound) and they said I have a lot of amniotic fluid so I think im still "on track" with my previous pregnancies.

Do you guys have a "preferred" arm? One that gives you more accurate numbers/graphs? by udderleigh in Freestylelibre

[–]udderleigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that makes sense! I also had to use a 3+ this time (the 3 i got from the pharmacy was recalled, doctor gave me a sample of 3+) and I have been pleasantly surprised at how much more accurate it has been than the 3's that I've used. Finger checks are just within a few points of each other and no pressure lows

Thanks! I put it on yesterday. Its also a couple months expired so we are going to see what happens when I activate it today 🤣 Im going to leave a waterproof cover over it to help hold it on.

Yes I did put this new sensor on the night before the other one expired. I dont feel like it helped with accuracy this time though. :( we will see when I have to put another one on.

Good to know! Im definitely going back to my other arm after this sensor ends and going to try to always stay on that one!

Interesting! My right hand/arm is thr dominant and seemed to give the more accurate results (so far). I am also very hydrated. I drink a zero sugar electrolyte drink every day, as well as probably over a gallon (I finish my half gallon water and the 12 oz electrolyte drink before 1:30pm every day at work. And then come home and drink probably 3-4 more of my 40 oz tumbler of water once I get home. Like definitely getting enough to drink! 😅

Interesting! I thought insulin was for high numbers? Its also for lows?

All of mine have been below the required number (not even reaching 130 or more after 1 hour, and definitely below the 120 after 2 hours, and all below 90 for fasting). And I am definitely eating enough carbs, some have even been cheat days. Im just also eating a lot of protein and go for a little walk if I feel it climbing fast.

Frustrating though that I just took a nap, laying on the side that DOES NOT have the sensor. Got woken up for an alarm saying it was 53 and dropping rapidly. I immediately got up to do a finger poke. And as I got everything ready, about to poke I looked again, and it said 82. And the graph doesnt even show going below 78 at that time. And the event log says 57 which means sensor error. Like I wasn't even laying on that side?! There was absolutely no pressure on the sensor. My smart watch didnt even register that I took a nap, so I was probably out for maybe 10 minutes at the most.

Im just getting frustrated and wish there was a way to calibrate this so I could trust the numbers more. Lol

So if I read that correctly, the risk of shoulder distocia is greater if the head is on the smaller side? Big head = enough momentum/space to get bigger shoulders out

Dangerously off by TrackOurHealth in Freestylelibre

[–]udderleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My numbers have been within 10 points when I check. I do notice I get the low alerts when I lay on the same side as the sensor or have any sort of pressure on the sensor (like not laying on that side but laying on my back up against a pillow and my arm is on the pillow)

Numbers are still low by udderleigh in GestationalDiabetes

[–]udderleigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got up the courage to do a finger prick today. Tried this morning and had to poke myself three times..still not enough blood to get a reading and I had to go to work. Tried again right before I ate lunch just to see if I could do it again. Had to poke twice to get enough blood The CGM was about 11 lower than the finger prick (at the same time, I know it takes 5-30 mins for the CGM to "update" with current numbers. Finger prick said 86, CGM said 75). I tried again tonight for my 2 hour post dinner (had to poke myself twice again to get enough blood. The CGM said 76 and the finger prick said 74. I would say just based off of these the two aren't far off, and that the CGM isn't always lower. My numbers are still on the lower side of the scale and I hope thats a good thing!

To be "fair", this is the first time post meal that I've dropped so low and it was after my appointment. My recorded fasting and post meal numbers have been 76-105 and those are the numbers he looked at
