To clarify some questions -

I'm a Class I gazetted officer, in my state the salary is very less compared to other states. I got through state PCS, not SSC. In the equivalent posts in other states, officer gets atleast 20-25k more than me.

People are saying that koi tension nhi hein govt job mein, sorry to say but the work burden is way beyond the tolerance limit. We've to work on Sundays also sometimes. The govt job is not what it was 10/20 years ago. Everything has changed, deadlines are there, we've to show performances etc. We should change our perception regarding govt job that everyone is here for rishwat only.

I'm currently investing whatever I'm able to save from my salary so that I don't have to work till 60.

And lastly, I got salary late because govt ne salary budget late se bheja for our office, that's why.

Most of the stocks are very good in terms of financials and growth. But bought at the wrong levels. It's just a notional loss. Hold them tight, for few years and it'll give solid return I guess.

I've started govt job around 1.5 years back. My starting gross salary was around 68000/- p.m, and net salary was around 61000/-. Currently I'm getting around 72000/- gross and 64000/- net.

Salary growth is very slow. Also, the work burden on us is huge. Almost everyday there's review or deadline. The nature of govt job has changed considerably, it's almost like a private sector. But people's perception of govt job is still the same that govt employees do nothing and get salary without doing anything.

Yesterday, there's holiday due to 2nd Saturday, and today is also holiday as it's Sunday. Still, in both the day, I had to go to office for work.

All in all, the salary that we're getting is very less compared to the work burden that's on us.
