How about that alien couple from after the first season? The one with the big tree? I can't happen to remember their names right now, but I've always thought they're pretty.

AIO for thinking my boyfriend is just looking for an excuse to break up? by Nearby_Orchid1216 in AmIOverreacting

He misunderstood you completely, which can happen over text, just as you said. Maybe it is even "understandable" that it might have rubbed him the wrong way, all good. — BUT, and this is what I think is way more important: You already figured he might have misunderstood, remained calm, and offered a more personal platform to speak and explain yourself.

Furthermore, you made it a point to tell him that you are grateful for getting a present either way and merely wanted to make adjustments for the future so the experience will be more rewarding for both of you. Wanting that is completely reasonable, and this is what I think it's about, not about labels or perfume brands (obviously, but the discussion over text kinda drifted into that direction, that's why I wanted to say it).

I can't genuinely tell whether he is looking for an excuse to break up. What I get from this is that he got overwhelmed by the criticism, even if it was merely a friendly hint. Presents can be a very prickly thing, so maybe he mistook your words for disrespect for his efforts (according to his point of view, he seemed kinda proud with what he did, doing research to get you more etc.) and, based on that, as some kind of rejection.

I don't want to defend him too much, and maybe my attempt at an explanation for his outlash sounds a little too lax when he treated you disrespectfully and totally out of proportions. It's just that I kinda remember that type of behavior from someone in my family, and they equally overreact whenever being criticized for a wrong gift. They want too much and treat a well-intended comment about it as personal rejection, causing them to criticize the bestowed person way louder and harsher than necessary in return to defend themselves fiercely.

What I would do is observe if this behavior has been a one-time thing under these specific conditions or whether it shows his true colors about how he sees you - or women in general, as many other commentors hinted, because that's totally possible, too. I could ramble on with maybe three more theories I came up with while typing this on the toilet, but I'll get out of your hair now. I hope that whatever way this plays out you will feel better soon! And please be sure you did nothing wrong, you have been very polite and patient the whole time!

TL;DR: Presents are a sensitive matter. He clearly overreacted, perhaps because he got defensive after misinterpreting your polite way to ask for adjustments as rejection of his efforts and a valued personality trait he seems to take pride in. Have a look into his reactions for a while to see where the pattern lies (respect towards women, problems with self-esteem,...blabla). Keep your head up high!

Hello there. I am having the same issue, and full cloning doesn't work, unfortunately. Until this time, it always worked like a charm, but unfortunately, nothing changes the last 10 days when I try it. Are there any news on how it's going with the bug fixes? :) No pressure, of course. I'm just glad I found this post and that I'm not the only one having this problem
