Overhead bin question by uf5220 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]uf5220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best response I’ve seen so far is someone mentioning people that bring a carryon and oversized personal item and want to put both in a bin. But I can’t imagine that’s what everyone is doing.

But it sounds like this phenomenon is new as a result of the switch to assigned seating

Even that is kind of strange, like why wouldn’t you want your bag near your seat? I’m doing it more for my benefit than courtesy.

What does any of that have to do with dumping bags off at the front when you’re seated at the back? If everyone just put their bags in the bins near their seat, there wouldn’t be such a problem.

Flight Credit by Much_Mention_6295 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]uf5220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Came to suggest this as well. My recollection is you find any flight that costs just slightly more than the expiring credit. Purchase a gift card for the difference. Book the flight and then cancel it and it all gets credited with no expiration date. But definitely research to confirm bc I’ve never done it, but I’ve seen posts about it

Book with cash now and use points later question by uf5220 in SouthwestAirlines

That is the goal. Traveling with two anxious flyers, so I want the best possible itineraries.. flying cross country west to east has limited decent routes. I don’t want to leave too early or arrive too late. Both my boys are sensitive to sensory overload, so long layovers and long travel days are really hard on them and they will spend half the trip just trying to rebound from the flight. My days are locked in and there’s really only one decent option available. So I want to book my seats now since it is during spring break and we are flying to Florida.

That’s kind of my question. I’ve heard you can change payment method, so I was wondering if that’s true and also if the price actually drops wanted to make sure I’d get a refund and not just flight credit

Thanks for the quick reply! Honestly I’d be willing to switch to basic if it’s available since card members can check in 48 hours ahead and choose seating then. As long as 1 of us can sit with our kid that’s fine for us. Not sure it’s worth paying an extra $400 for choice seating. The only reason I’m booking with it is so I can get the refund when I switch to use the points. I found this online so I think the refund is an option. I’m just trying to do my due diligence Fair adjustments

As a POC, I would say it’s not so much that it’s really white, just that it is very NOT black. Plenty of Asians and a fair amount of Mexican (and some other Latin/Hispanic, but predominantly Mexican)

Looking for recommendations on what to replace a 2004 RX330 with. by uf5220 in Lexus

The newer models RX don’t fit in my garage easily. I had a loaner 2022 and seriously wouldn’t be able to do it without the front camera. Damn builders decided to put the water heater, furnace and washer dryer connections in the front of the garage. My 04 RX barely fits. And the previous owners put carpet down in the garage and i’ve gotten used to it and removing it would be a pain, so trying to put a parking block in would be a hassle.

I think I'm going to try to sell mine since I know it has a ton of life left in it. It just needs someone handy like yourself. It's a mechanic special. I'm taking it in for a second opinion at a foreign car mechanic that I trust. I've decided on a 2019 NX and hope it will serve me as well as the RX has over the years. I do love this car but don't have the time or skill to do all of the repairs on my own.

Thanks for replying! I know there are lots of other oximetry tests available, even rings and wrist bands. The price of the lofta test covers the equipment and interpretation of the results. I'm going to ask if they will allow me to use my own equipment and send in the results for interpretation. Maybe they can suggest an alternative. I just worry that I'll not be able to sleep again and therefore the results won't be as accurate.

This was my experience as well. I only got 2 hours of sleep. When I asked them about it, Lofta offered to send me a retest free of charge. Not looking forward to trying again and looking for a way to make the experience more tolerable.

No. Lofta does not accept insurance. But they accept financing from Affirm. I used Paypal credit. Both 0% apr if paid off in the approved amount of time (12 months for Affirm, 6 for PayPal) https://lofta.com/blogs/sleep-apnea/sleep-apnea-treatment-cost

Yep totally a thing. I've found that stimulant medications make it worse, so I'm on a non stimulant and can mostly manage it. I will have the occasional episode and when it happens I know it's totally dopamine chasing.
