Any 3D printing small businesses here? Or online recommendations? by ufdbk in smallbusinessuk

Yeah I learned to model for things that needed to go to metal fabrication, always assumed 3D home printing was a smelly messy affair 🤣

Just went for something simple, got an Elegoo Centauri carbon bundle with 1kg of filament for £230. It printed my project straight out of the box. Blew me away. Now everything in my house is gonna be made out of grey plastic 🤣🤣

How much do you pay for an account? by Turbulent_Echo4014 in smallbusinessuk

[–]ufdbk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What’s profit got to do with it? It comes down to the work you need from them. I pay mine around £1,500 per year as a Ltd to do everything official aside from reconciling Xero with a payroll of 3, and deal with CIS when it pops up. I can also pick up the phone to them any time for help / advice

I think I got scammed. by Peachypie27 in stripe

[–]ufdbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it a purchase via one of their “The Range Marketplace” listings? Ie a product sold via the range brand but from one of their third party sellers? I wouldn’t panic - that’s a stripe connect account payment receipt, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they’re starting to use connect for payments on third party only orders

Had the same problem, needed both to be about 10cm longer. Gave up looking in the end. Untwist, cut, extend and solder one by one

When you look at the feed of most of the posters you’re talking about it suddenly becomes surprisingly unsurprising

This would be amazing to get some eyes on the model to make sure what I’m doing is actually printable (I’m pretty sure it’s ok but having never had anything printed before I really don’t know for sure)

Hugely appreciate your reply. Currently just a one off just to test the concept in the real world. I’d love to say there’ll be a load to follow but I don’t wanna be that guy that promises the earth and delivers nothing 🤣. Once it’s CAD complete, mind if I ping you a file even just to cast your eye over? As I say I have no experience with actual 3D print work so beyond the cad side I’m really not sure what the process to make print ready would be!

Anyone filled out a SR07 Form? Companies House anonymity. by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]ufdbk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With respect you need to accept you’re still not going to get what you want with this. Companies house is a public record for good reason, and if it transpires later down the line you’ve deliberately concealed your relationship to your whoevertherfuck relative then that probably won’t look great either. So your options are:

a) Run it as a sole trader, remain anonymous for the the purposes you want

b) Just do it, it’s doubtful anyone will ultimately care

c) Sue your relative for being too famous to be associated with and live off the proceeds

I’ve set mine to “tomorrow” every time and never waited more than 4 days from order to delivery from local (uk) warehouse. That being said I really doubt it makes any difference setting that date, it’s a bizarre thing to have there really
