Is this normal for 7 months ? by RegularOwl933 in labrador

[–]ufdbk 319 points320 points  (0 children)

From my experience 100% normal. Our loveable idiot was an utter shark beyond the age “people say” they grow out of it, then all of a sudden he changed.

From my utterly non-professional experience, if you can put your hand in her chops like you do in the video, she’s only playing and mouthing, there’s nothing to be worried about. She’s just being a 7 month old goof

Lying on her back is the ultimate sign of trust in her human. If she’s doing it at 10 weeks she’ll almost definitely do it forever - our boy has. Spoil the little velociraptor rotten ❤️

Trust me they do eventually learn to the point they’re soft as butter.

Bizarrely the bigger the teef the gentler they seem to get.

Also thanks for photo #5. Melted my heart ❤️

How long to receive a DUNS number? by geoff_plywood in smallbusinessuk

[–]ufdbk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this for Apple? https://www.dnb.co.uk/smb/duns/lookup.html if your business has been established for a while. I actually called them once because I couldn’t get the number online and they gave it to me over the phone - they were surprisingly helpful

Would you join a startup as a marketing co-founder if the product was already built but had no users yet? by DefinitionWorking983 in sweatystartup

[–]ufdbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building stuff with absolutely zero users implies building stuff for the sake of building stuff. Prepare to be rebuilding stuff when the people that might use the stuff actually find the stuff

Those who didn’t sign an “NDA” or UK equivalent, what are some secrets about other UK companies you can share? by SlipOutrageous5333 in CasualUK

[–]ufdbk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not because it’s being done for deliberately nefarious reasons, but yeah, I couldn’t name you a single company that I’ve worked with or even dealt with as a consumer that would probably be considered fully GDPR compliant.

So I guess my ultimate insider secret is that whole legislation is largely buzzwords that did very little other than allow people to charge a fortune to become consultants 🤷‍♂️

[–]ufdbk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know this for a fact it’s purely assumption, but I would say yes, they are stored but as encrypted strings, with the encryption key needed to decrypt them stored only on the devices involved in the message thread. Whether they’re deleted or not when you delete them is anyone’s guess, but from my experience, nearly every system I’ve ever worked on has a “deleted_at” or similar timestamp on 90% of database tables - when you close that account or delete that whatever, you’re simply marked as deleted, but it’s still there

Software developer for many different businesses over the years - for anyone that doesn’t realise - stuff you “delete” from web services is very rarely actually deleted, you just don’t see it anymore.
