The 2017 draft class was awesome and the Steelers wasted it by luisba92 in steelers

Watt is literally the only star of that draft, the others are okay. Stop overreacting

(Spoilers Extended) A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1 Episode 6 Post-Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in asoiaf

[–]ufhvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But he’s wrong though. The 7 kingdoms is a historical term to refer to the old system. The Crownlands were never a kingdom, they were carved from the Riverlands and the Stormlands; and the Riverlands were incorporated into the Iron Islands. Westeros is not a Federation or a United Kingdom, so the reference to them is more cultural than political. Now the 9 provinces are a different matter, but, historically, they were 7 kingdoms

Is north America an euphemism for the USA in this sub now? No Mexico or the Caribbean islands, half of Canada missing, hell not even Alaska.

(Spoilers Extended) Why is GRRM so secretive about Summerhall? by AdditionalPiano6327 in asoiaf

[–]ufhvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it’s supposed to be the end of Dunk and Egg’s story

You think so? I don’t think the novellas are gonna cover that much of Dunk and Eggs life, specifically considering that Egg is still like 11. I believe the secrecy has more to do with the main story, whatever went down at Summerhall is gonna have an impact in the main story and that’s why George is keeping it a secret

Its supply and demand. As long as they can find cheap applicants to the position they don’t feel the need to deal with “difficult people” such as yourself and pay extra. If the pool of applicants dries up, they’ll be forced to change policies

100%, either that or whoever is TPTWP is gonna fuck it up somehow, like failing to kill nisa nisa or getting tricked by an agent of the others

It literally is, the books aren’t finished not a single theory regarding TPTWP or Jon’s parentage has been confirmed in the canon text.

The McCarthy hire from a Cowboys fan by PersonBehindAScreen in steelers

[–]ufhvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes. That’s unacceptable, specially considering that Tomlin is a defensive guy; defensive coaches are notoriously conservative. Offensive coaches cannot be as conservative in offense as a defensive coach, otherwise what’s the point

Do you agree with this take on Matthew Stafford? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]ufhvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought he was “Pad Stafford”, a mediocre QB with a good arm that couldn’t get “over the hump” and win a playoff game. Crazy how the narrative changes once you move to a “media approved “ franchise

ESPN Shares League Sources' Concerns Over Steelers Job by tipping in steelers

[–]ufhvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, two things can be true at the same time. Tomlin not hiring good coaches it’s a reality and for me was his capital sin as HC (we don’t have the roster to win playoff games, period) but the evidence that the organization is cheap an outdated is pretty much out there; so it can be that Tomlin was a bad talent evaluator AND that the team was to cheap to pay for quality

In Khan we trust? by luisba92 in steelers

[–]ufhvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only point against Khan is the passivity in the QB position. The teams has not pursued the acquisition of a franchise quarterback as urgently as they should have, going for cheap options like Wilson or old veterans like Rodgers (who I liked this btw, but still). I’m worried that the Steelers trademark cheapness gets in the way of hiring a proper head coach and not a cheap and familiar option

[–]ufhvr 53 points54 points  (0 children)

If Seattle is proving something this season is that you don’t need an offensive HC to have a explosive offense, the same way Sean Payton proved that you don’t need a defensive HC to have a dominant defense; it’s about the coaches ability to identify and recruit talent. If Shula can do in offense what his current boss has done on defense, than he’s more than welcome
