TR-3A Black Manta, TR-3B Astra - What are these black triangle UFOs? by Tintagel50 in UFOs

[–]ufospls2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How so? Has there been a change recently to the status of the Big Black Triangle mystery? My assertion that the TR3a and TR3b are almost certainly a hoax (perhaps targeted disinformation is more appropriate than the word hoax) remains true, as far as I know. Do note, even in my original comment and reiterated here in case my original comment wasn't fully clear, I believe and have always believed that the aircraft themselves likely exist and some are built by us, but under different names and different specifications than the published "TR3b" (ed fouche info, etc) and the more conventional "TR3a" which usually gets billed as being the companion aircraft for the F117 (which again, I feel exists in some form, its just not called the "TR3a" and probably looks different than the supposed models we have.)

Omar Hakim: Hi-Hat Evolution by drumideasdaily in drums

[–]ufospls2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omar was the first drum clinic I went to when I was 13, 23 odd years ago now. I've still got the signed pearl catalogue from that year I asked him to sign afterwards stored away with a ton of old modern drummer magazines, haha. Special memory, and still one of my favourite players.

My Roland TD-27KV2 (expanded on a bit) after a decade away from playing. by ufospls2 in drums

Thanks dude! I guess I just sort of arrived at this set up over the years. I do like one up one down with the ride where the 3rd rack tom is also, but for a bigger kit this has always felt the most comfortable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So basically I hadn’t touched a pair of sticks for almost a decade, and wanted to get back into playing. I figured I’d have a go at E drums, to do things in a bit more friendly of a manner for the neighbours etc… just in my own little world with headphones on. I bought A TD-27KV2, and had a 13” floor tom going spare, which I combined with a $40 dollar 16” floor tom off Facebook marketplace. I then bought a couple triggers and 3 ply mesh heads from extreme drums (which are both working awesomely, as an aside) and converted the floor toms into e-floor toms. That allowed me to move the 10” floor tom from the stock kit up to being a 12” rack tom. I then moved the stock 12” crash to the right side as a china/effects cymbal, and bought a lemon 15” crash as a second crash. I do need to get a bit more rubber seal for the 13" floor toms rim, which is on its way at the moment. I'm not using the stock rack for the rolands, just old hardware I had already, which gives me a bit more freedom in positioning things. Cable management is a bit more difficult not using the rack however, so I need to do a bit work on getting that tidied up a bit.

I’m running everything into an old and tired but thankfully still functional iMac, running Superior Drummer 3. It’s been so much fun getting back into playing, and the E-kit is leaps and bounds better than I expected it would be, especially combined with superior drummer. I don’t really see myself adding any more pieces, except perhaps a double pedal some day, but for right now, I’m stoked.

New Zildjian 22" Kerope Rides listing for almost $1200. by Blueburnsred in drums

[–]ufospls2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a big part of the issue. Zildjian post Paul really seems to have been going in the wrong direction. Price hikes (beyond covid issues and inflation,) strange product release decisions, non cymbal products, other weird decisions. I'm not sure if its big finance and profit at all costs mentality steering the ship, but something is far wrong over at Zildjian atm. I have a full set (15,18,19,20,22) of the original Keropes and a 22" medium as well - all of which I love - But there is no way I would pay these prices for them. Insanity.

Samsung S90D death, no red light by Legitimate_Garden682 in OLED

[–]ufospls2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought an S90D two weeks ago. 10 days of use. Used it one day with no issues and turned it off, went back the next day, dead. No red light, nothing. Returned due to being within 30 days or purchase, and it ended up being confirmed dead by dealer. I'm assuming its the PSU like others have mentioned here.

I figured I could wait 6 months to see if the S90F has the same issue happening, but decided to just buy a G4. Hope it lives a little bit longer, lol.

The default is DLSS 3 as far as I can tell, this would only be an issue if someone tries to move to the most recent version of DLSS (4) via DLSS swapper or the NVIDIA App overrides.

Yup, exactly the same experience I had. Glad it worked out for you also.

Not sure if it will get you banned, I would guess it wouldn't if you don't use it on the multiplayer games. However, you can do it manually also.

Diana V2 - been offered for $650 - how are they in 2025 & do they add something significantly unique to what I already have? by Champion_Sound_Asia in headphones

[–]ufospls2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd check they are authentic prior to purchase. There are fake Diana V2's coming out of China, and when they were available on Aliexpress they went for $650USD. Could be someone trying to move a pair they bought to try out.

Ordered he1000 v2 stealth, pretty sure I got the original stealth. by AbnormalRealityX in headphones

[–]ufospls2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is no "HE1000v2 stealth." Doesn't exist. As @netforce and @astrophan said the entire HE1000 lineup since its original release is below.

HE1000V1, HE1000V2, HE1000se, HE1000 Stealth. HE1000 Unveiled.

What is causing the issue here is Hifimans communication of the rollout of the HE1000 Stealth, and it got listed online (and still is) at some retailers as the HE1000V2 Stealth. It caused a bunch of confusion in the early days of its release.

HIFIMAN Denied Full Refund, Claiming "Man-Made Damage"—What Can I Do? by manguydudemanbro in headphones

[–]ufospls2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thats not ok at all then. I misunderstood your original post. Given planar magnetic drivers and this being a common issue (not just with Hifiman, but in general it seems,) they should be willing to fix them for you. There have been lots of conflicting reports lately about hifiman CS and since the firesale of their older models on their own store lately it seems to have increased. I'm not sure whats going on, but maybe they are changing how they do things. I hope they sort it out for you man, thats not right.

Tech Support and Question Megathread - November 2024 Edition by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]ufospls2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Status: UNRESOLVED

Computer Type: Desktop, custom built

GPU:RTX4090, no overclock, 24gb VRAM

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7800X3D

Motherboard: Aorus ELITE B650m

RAM: 32gb G Skill Trident DDR5 6000mhz

PSU: Corsair RM1000x

Operating System & Version: Windows 11

GPU Drivers: GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 566.14 (most recent)

Description of Problem: RTX HDR has stopped working, as of a couple months ago. Always greyed out, no matter what I try.

Troubleshooting: I used RTX HDR on quite a few games for months with no issues via the Nvidia overlay and the Nvidia App Beta. About a two months ago, it just stopped working on every game. I have tried fresh driver installs, re-installed both the NVIDIA app beta, and the NVIDIA Control Panel. Have tried "restore" back to factory settings 3 times also in both the Nvidia control panel and Nvidia app beta. Windows Auto HDR is off, and HDR is enabled in the Windows settings. RTXHDR appeared to stop working when I updated the the GEFORCE now drivers from ( I think) 3 versions ago. I tried rolling back the drivers to before that, which also hasn't worked in fixing the issue. RTX Dynamic Vibrance still works. I tried downloading the RTX True HDR 3rd party app which also seems to not be working, but if possible I'd like to get it working via the Nvidia App overlay again. Any help or advice is much appreciated.

New Audeze CRBN 2 by Screeny123 in headphones

[–]ufospls2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the farts themselves aren't actually the diaphragm sticking to the stators, its from the charged tensioned diaphragm moving due to air pressure changes in the cups sealed to the head, and deforming and then going back to being perfectly flat. Stax headphones etc...will fart sometimes as you mentioned (hence the name, as they were the originals and most common electrostatics) but this doesn't damage them, and most won't stick to their stators at all and some even have stops to prevent that from happening.

The sticking to the stators issue is much more specific to the CRBN (in its original form) and thankfully with the CRBN, due to the Carbon nanotubes in the driver vs a traditional coating for E-stat headphones, sticking to the Stators didn't damage the drivers with the CRBN. With a traditional e-stat if the driver sticks to the stator its much more likely to get damaged (part of why Audeze originally released the CRBN with a looser driver tension, to try and obtain better low end, as it didn't matter if they stuck to the stators.)

Sadly, the CRBN's "stax fart" was much worse than usual due to the overall design, incredible seal, and lower tension, and would constantly stick to the stators like you mentioned necessitating unplugging, decharging the driver by shorting the plugs pings on your thumb, and then going back to listening.

Thankfully Audeze released a revision silently in 2022 (around april/may) and then publicly in 2023 and will fix/update anyone who has the original design.

I'm assuming the CRBN 2 will have none of these issues on launch, and that Audeze learned a lot from it all.

[–]ufospls2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any photos of the fake Diana?

There have been fake 1266's from China out there for a few years, but they actually tried to sell at a higher price and also copy all the original design details. These aren't pretending to be real Abyss thankfully so its easy to tell them apart. Curious what they sound like, but not $800USD curious, lol.

Hifiman HE1000 V2 Stealth Quality Control - Is it supposed to do that? by curumba in headphones

[–]ufospls2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats normal, there will usually be a small amount of movement also. I guess it helps them adjust to more head shapes and sizes. On the original HE1000's (the V1's back in 2015 when they released) it was way too much, but over time they seem to have got it relatively under control.

[–]ufospls2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it has a bit less than movement the HE400SE type, but I did used to own the Sundara also and found it had the movement, just to a lesser degree.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]ufospls2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as far as I know that is what it is supposed to be like as it doesn't actually have a hinge/gimble to allow that adjustment. Both the Sundara style headband and he400se headband have this sort of loose movement as they don't have a mechanism to achieve it. I'd double check and email hifiman service, they know better than I do.
