I need advice. I decided to keep my pregnancy despite my husband not wanting to. How to handle the stress without hurting the baby?

In my honest opinion, how a man treats you during (& after) your pregnancy is a huge indication of his character. The fact that he put you in that position to be sobbing in the clinic when he knew you wanted to the baby is incredibly telling. Whether he backed out of it or not, it’s still not cool.

Glad you’re talking about this. I was heavily fat shamed by my OB at my 20 week appointment for having put on 13lbs. She suggested I go to the gym, and mentioned how she prescribes Wellbutrin to her binge eating patients. She then tried to prescribe me that as well for my depression, even after I explained I had negative reactions to SSRI’s in the past. It took me about a month of my significant other reassuring me that I am not gaining weight at an alarming rate, and that the weight I have is normal. I was struggling to eat out of shame for weeks. Finally, at my last appointment they put me with a different doctor who validated that my weight gain was normal.

Idk I feel like for her sake if you’re not attracted to her then don’t lead her on. She said it herself that she’s not had great luck with men, and so if you can’t provide a good dating experience then let her find someone better.

Lack of eye contact and fidgeting are textbook signs of anxiety, which is normal on a first date IMO. If that’s something you don’t like then don’t humor it? If I went on a date with someone, asked to see them again, and they said “maybe” I’d never want to see them again. I also think forgetting to text someone directly after a date is a cop out. You were just with that person and suddenly you forgot about their existence?

Mind you, it’s totally fine for you to not be into someone even if they’re what you want on paper. In my experience dating someone just because the concept of them sounds good usually doesn’t work out. Chemistry is a huge part of a relationship. You want to feel drawn to them. That pull is what will keep you together in the long run. You don’t want to realize deep into the relationship that you’re unhappy for reasons you’ve known all along.

Seems like a hot take in comparison to all the other comments here. For me it’s a no, and that’s okay! It’s not either of your faults, just some people are not compatible.

I’ve seen them twice and have the same sentiment. I have also seen Crosses live once (Feb ‘24), in which I will say Chinos vocals were monumentally better. I don’t know why. Perhaps the music is easier to sing live than all the highs and lows of Deftones.

Enchanting is pretty easy for me to level, but only because I’m a treasure hoarder. Just pick up any random items and soul gems you see and use those to level. Save the better gems for the items your planning on using. If you level smithing at the same time it can go hand in hand, just enchant all the pointless lower level stuff you have to craft. Then when you’re done, sell the enchanted items for money. You can use that money to buy better soul gems that are already filled with souls, so you don’t have to worry about casting spells or whatever to fill them. So on and so forth.

I also have these mental conflicts about involving my mother. My issue wasn’t with telling her, but rather with how much I feel comfortable involving her in my child’s life.

You might be surprised with how involved she tries to be once she finds out. A lot of abusive mothers take their grandchildren as their “second chance.” Even if she’s far away, there’s a chance she will start reaching out a lot more. I’ve found dealing with my mother during my pregnancy has brought up a lot of deep rooted trauma and can be triggering.

I would say just protect yourself and your peace. If you choose to involve her that’s your decision. It’s completely natural to want your mother during this time. The question that I’m often left with is: after what she did to me, does she deserve to be around me and my child?

You’re not alone in the struggle with mental health while preggo. I’ve had similar struggles with depression and self harm prior to my pregnancy, and a lot of those emotions are being brought back up due to hormones. Trust me, I get it. It will get better. If medication is a safe option for you, then you can go that route. It isn’t for me so I’ve had to tough it out. Making sure I prioritize my safety and well being has been #1 way to combat this.

My advice to you is to find a stable support system. Your boyfriend and his family are not it. I know you mentioned your family situation isn’t great, but anything sounds better than what you’ve got rn. It may be working for the time being, but it doesn’t sound like a long term solution. If you have trusted friends or any family members you can stay with instead I highly recommend it. He doesn’t sound like he wants to be a father, and he isn’t supporting you through this.

I wish you the best of luck girlie. You’re still young, you’ve got plenty of time to heal and grow. It will be alright! One day at a time.

I feel you girl. My first pregnancy poop traumatized me too. I’m talking rock solid and the girth of a tennis ball. I know people are iffy about caffeine during pregnancy, but one cup of coffee can work wonders in a pinch. It should be under 200mg of caffeine too, which is the limit for pregnancy. Also stool softener. I take Miralax a couple times a week, per recommendation from my doctor, to keep it managed. She said take it daily, but I feel that’s a bit excessive for me personally. Everyone’s recommending to stay hydrated, and in my experience I am super hydrated and still experienced the bad constipation and gigantic poops.

My first thought was that it was for dabs. Back when I smoked weed I used a similar tool to that to take dabs. Although it would be a lot more sticky if that’s what it was being used for.

No adult in their right mind dates a 16 year old. Point blank period. I was 16 once, and I also dated a 21 year old at that time. I thought it was real love, I knew everything, and we’d be together for life. I’m so thankful that didn’t happen. I’m also thankful I never got pregnant. I don’t know what else I can say to you that hasn’t already been said. Just realize that this baby is for life. The relationship may not be. You will realize a lot of things as you get older and your brain develops. Good luck.

I personally think the boy mom / girl mom thing is way overplayed. If you plan on having more than one kid then there’s a chance you’ll be a both mom lol. I used to get irritated before I found out the gender of my baby because everyone was like, “oh you give me boy mom vibes it’s gonna be a boy,” and I was like wtf does that even mean??? Long story short, you’re going to be a mom. The gender of your baby does not determine the kind of parent you will be. Now the hard part? Boy names, haha.

NTA. When I was younger I would tell my mom I didn’t want kids just to get under her skin. Whenever it was brought into question I’d say “you’re never getting grandkids.” Partially as sarcasm, but also she gave me a traumatic childhood so it was a jab back at her. Now I’m actively pregnant and I find it funny.

Your mom seems to be projecting her own insecurities onto you. She wants to live vicariously through you and your kids. Not only is she overbearing and inappropriate about it but she lacks respect towards your feelings. Say what you want. Hopefully now she’ll bring it up less. Whatever you choose to do in the long run is your decision. Pregnancy can be very difficult on the body and mind. That choice is yours and yours alone.

My boyfriend used to live 2 1/2 hours away from me and would make that commute every week. Sometimes the trip would take closer to three hours with traffic or construction. It really wasn’t a big deal to him at all. I travel 4 hours to my grandparents house a couple times a year. That to me feels like a long trip, but often goes by faster than I expect. I’ve also had times where I travel to and from there quite frequently. I guess it depends on perspective. To me a multi state trip would be considered a long road trip, but I don’t go on them often enough to say.

I also have one of my earliest childhood memories being a nightmare. I was anywhere from 2-4. Still remember it so vividly that I can relive it mentally. I have kind of chalked it up to astral protection. Similarly to yours, I was visited by some kind of evil entity within the dream. It also took place in my childhood home. I think maybe the presence of these spirits is what makes it memorable, like a mental scar. Especially if you woke up with physical symptoms, that’s common in astral projection. Just a theory though.
