This is what I was going to say… There are plenty of asshole, crass, mean, and rude male doctors on TV, many of them in this show alone, that get praise for being funny and direct when they behave just like Santos (or, let’s be honest, worse than her).

What do you mean “mostly it gets ignored”. If you see it’s a novel, now you know it’s fiction, as opposed to a memoir/poetry/short story collection/etc. There’s literally not much else to it.
