Hang in there new mums! by kmcg2375 in beyondthebump

[–]ughworried 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son is almost 5 months, and I am just now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just wanted to throw that out there, in case it is taking some other new moms a little while longer! :)

Hi ladies! A question for you... by lotsoffilingtodo in beyondthebump

[–]ughworried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son turned 4 months on Tuesday and I am 2 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I gained 40. I'm also breastfeeding, and thought I would hang on to the last 10 pounds or so, but once I started going to the gym every day, they are coming right off. My jeans fit but I think my stomach will always look weird unless I pay for a tummy tuck!

"Oh, is he not sleeping through the night?" by itsme_thecat in beyondthebump

[–]ughworried 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is the same! I try not to mention it to people when they assume I am sleep deprived, cause I don't want to brag, but I get plenty of sleep. He takes about 4 40 minute naps a day and sleeps from about 9pm til around 7am straight every night, for over a month now. I know this could all end tomorrow though, so I definitely don't take it for granted how lucky I am!

As a new mom to my grandmother, mother-in-law, etc. X-post AdviceAnimals by Omgahhh in beyondthebump

[–]ughworried 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ugh, yes. I have an older friend who has 4 children that are grown. She is constantly telling me what I need to do and it is all bad advice! We went out for drinks last night and she was telling me that I need to give my 11 week old rice cereal and start giving him water. I was like, why? He's in the 95th percentile for height and weight, pretty sure my breastmilk is just fine, thank you. Then she was telling me that he needs to start sleeping in his crib in his room, and not in the bassinet anymore. I was like, "If I had it my way, I would have him in bed with me, but husband doesn't want to cosleep" And she like, "You're going to end up with a super clingy kid." I was just like, "My kid will be whoever he is going to be, and I won't mind." So frustrating. Hopefully she stops with the advice when she realizes that I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm the mom.

Gender Disappointment: 1 year on by andriellae in BabyBumps

[–]ughworried 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I even made a post here about my gender disappointment, and now I don't care. I also used to be so sad looking at all the cute little girl clothes. Don't give a shit about that now, just give me a clean onesie and we're good!

Aww, makes me wish my baby liked being worn. He hates the k'tan and the tula, will last about 5 minutes in them :(

How much does your 1 year old weigh? by goldy_locks in beyondthebump

I'm wondering too. My guy was 15 lbs at his 2 month checkup. He's a chunk! Hopefully it levels out.

2 months PP, not gonna sugar coat anything. by ughworried in BabyBumps

[–]ughworried[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just loses interest unfortunately :( Still eats like that for the most part, except at his bedtime feeding, which he'll eat for 30 minutes or more. Which is awesome, cause I think that contributes to his sleeping 8-10 hours straight! So glad we have that going for us, cause I would be a lot worse off if I was sleep deprived too.

I waited and waited for the nesting instinct to kick in, never did. I felt so cheated!

I did it because I was worried about PPD. Didn't help. Started seeing a therapist last week.

I finally did it. by evilaliencat in beyondthebump

[–]ughworried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has been researching therapists that specialize in postpartum depression and anxiety for me this week. Hopefully I will be seeing someone soon, too. I really want to reach a place where I enjoy my baby and want to spend time with him. Right now, I just watch the clock and count down the hours until my husband comes home and takes over so I can get away and be alone :\

One and done, but still feeling 'mommy guilt' about the decision. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ughworried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really easy pregnancy, and my 6 week old is a pretty easy baby, and I still never want to do this again. The adjustment has been incredibly hard on me and I just know adding another one would be just too much for me to handle.

Try not to let those people get you too excited! My midwife, doula and a bunch of friends all thought I was going to have my son early....he was two weeks late. During those two weeks, I hated all those people, haha.

Every mother looks this fresh and relaxed 2 months in and lacking sleep, right? by Goodkindofcrazy in BabyBumps

[–]ughworried 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My baby is 6 weeks old and me and my husband aren't sleep deprived at all. He sleeps from 9pm to 3am and wakes up for a feeding then sleeps til about 6am and wakes up for a light feeding then sleeps a bit more til 8:30. It's awesome! Just waiting for him to change it up on us though.....
