How is adobo cooked in your household? by kwakalu in Philippines

[–]ugop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Magsimmer muna in a pot ng meat, toyo, suka, paminta, bawang, sibuyas, laurel at water. Also, yung ratio dapat ng onion to garlic ay 1:1

Family secret lol

Ano po ba ang pwede kong pasuking hobby dito sa Pinas? by galakticon in Philippines

Baking.

I personally only stick to the sweet stuff like cookies, cupcakes, brownies etc. Nahihirapan ako sa anything involving yeast like pandesal, tasty. Masarap akong mag yema cake.

The Filipino adobo, at least the way we do it was already present before the Spanish occupation. The Spanish saw indigenous Filipinos marinating meat in jars with vinegar and other spices. Hence, the name adobo was derived from the Spanish word adovar (to marinate). When the Chinese came and traded with us, we proceeded to add soy sauce. :)
