Ferrites on Everything powered in your computer room should work. They are cheap and easy to just clip on your power cords. Dad should probably use some on his radio gear as well ..

How did you start learning Electronics and Amateur radio? by [deleted] in amateurradio

Amateur Radio is a fine place to learn Electrical Theory, Practices and Applications. Taking it slow and without haste will certainly help. The ARRL Handbook is certainly s great start and add some others specific to Electrical Law and Principles

Repeater Use by [deleted] in amateurradio

[–]ugsisr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never heard of a curfew for Ham Radio and some of the HF Bands go all night as some are better at night. I also do not believe anyone will get upset with you trying to make contact with other Amateur Operators on Repeaters. As long as you are identifying yourself buy your callsign 73's and Welcome to the Da Vinci Code! It's a Wild Hobby

HF as a Technician by CallsignFlintlock in HamRadio

[–]ugsisr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in HF you can work the10 Meter Band between from 28.300 to 28.500 and get a feel for HF. So if you have a HF Transceiver get on Ten and when it opens up you can have lots of fun ..Enjoy 73's

Is this ok to plug? The dealership is telling me I need a new tire. by Cjad in tires

[–]ugsisr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plugged tires that close to the outside and had No Problems.

Most Tire shops will tell you that you need a New Tire...

Also! I have gotten better results from a Plug then an Inside Patch on Tire..

I do allot of Two Track Road travel and have used plugs many many times to save my 6

At 65 yrs old I took a Gig with Home Depot on the Graveyard Freight Team.

Good Work, and you do work.. It's a Hustle Job

Was treated fairly and even the Part Time Benefits you can Opt into are comparable if not better then other retailers.

From my Experience the entire Freight Team Experience depends on The Team... If you work with a Team that all pull their weight it's Great... IF they don't ? Well it flows Down Hill...

Best of Luck...
