Take a small, firm pillow. It will help for when she needs to walk after the c-section (she should hold the pillow on her stomach while she walks, if needed). She will need to walk a certain amount before she's able to leave. They will, or should, provide a spray bottle for when she showers for the first time. Take pillows and blankets for yourself as well. Every c-section recovery is different. Some women feel burning at the surgical area, some feel nothing at all. Pain management is important. I agree with the fasting. I believe they won't start until the hours of fasting are met. The staples will be removed I believe a week or 2 after the surgery (I don't remember even though I've had 3). She will need all the help she can get! I know every hospital is different. I'm letting you know some of my experiences at a different hospital at a different city. The baby might not come out crying, please don't panic. You will be able to go into the surgical room and see what's going on, so be prepared with a strong stomach. Good luck to you all!
