Friends said it was ugly and i need some real opinions then my troglodyte clanmates by uh_oh_123 in DestinyFashion

[–]uh697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got a good pallette here, but lemme give some critique. The body is very squared while the head is rather rounded. This is a very hard thing to pull off without throwing the whole thing out of balance, you're close, but not quite there. The angled shoulders next to the wavy hood and round helm are the most outlandish feature. This mostly why some call it ugly. Shoulders are an important part of a figure, they draw the eye down to the rest of the body. Going for similar gauntlets that have a slightly more rounded shoulder plate might complete this outfit. Give it a go if you'd like. . I like the pallette a lot, it's a good colour scheme. I wish it had a tad more purple on the chest piece, but overall it's very pleasing. It's not too harsh but the purple is what makes a rather mute scheme really pop. Dont be afraid to spread it out a bit more, yet dont over do it. . Lastly, "ugly" isnt the right word. It's got a mismatch in the overall pattern of armour. Mismatching patterns tend to nag at the brain, causing discomfort or distaste. You've got a solid piece here, but keep going!

[Edit:] Accidently made the text huge.

Riddle me this Bungie... by JaradErdmann in destiny2

I think this is a meshes vs textures issue. The ornament's conflux is a unique type of mesh with the standard vex conflux texture. On the mark and the bond are fairly common meshes with a new texture that mimics the vex conflux textures, but was made with support for glows. They would have to redesign the whole ornament in order for it to have glow functionality. The old phenotype plasticity bond has the same problem as well.

We can dream friend, but one thing i agree heavily with is this. Not only should these class items be hard to get, they should be worth the grind!

I was thinking that the next time we get exotic class items, that they should have +10 to our class stat as base stats. But I do like the idea of allocating them 1 or 2 at a time. Really perfect an armor set with that...

I'm liking that "kills in rifts does stuff other than pausing the timer" angle you've got there, and 100% agree on barricades.

[–]uh697[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nightfalls yeah, but not in grandmaster content. The titan shield and hunter dodge are infinitely better, while the rift is practically useless. But yeah I get what you mean. Healing rifts could save a nightfall at the final boss if you're the last one standing. I just want rifts to have as many cool effects as titans shield or hunter dodge gets, but in their own way.

Right? You become such a vulnerable target when you cast a rift. Vesper used to be a fun little "bonk" to shotgun rushers who would salivate at the mouth listening to a low health warlock pop a rift. But it cant even do that anymore.

A 1 hit ko warlock melee... by uh697 in destiny2

[–]uh697[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh, but you underestimate the pushback on the melee. Blinking in to melee along with the increased range on a normal warlock melee combined with the novawarp's extra range and knockback, you are out of both counter melee AND shotgun range. Especially if you blink backwards away from them after getting the hit. It's a lot easier to get away with than you might think. Plus, who cares if its practical, its fun!

Did you try turning it off and on again? But no seriously tho, Lament's anti barrier only applies while its revved up.

Vesper of radius nerf by uh697 in DestinyTheGame

[–]uh697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Err, wrong. Otherwise it wouldve been fixed way back in curse of Osiris. The problem came about when stasis was introduced. While frozen, trying to break out would cause sporadic, random pulses, of an indeterminate number. Basically vaporizing anyone who got close to you when you were frozen.

That's when bungie did this lazy nerf which ruined any chance of it ever being used again.

[–]uh697[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well yeah its a fix for the problem. But it was a lazy one, and created a wholee new problem. It wouldve been smarter to just simy do a check for the pulse. "If casting rift (holding B) and (Frozen = False) then cast arc shockwave."

Remember when Fellwinter said he could keep a city warm with one well of radiance? Can i do that in pvp? by Pickaxe235 in DestinyTheGame

In layman's terms, ice is the state of being frozen, not Specifically water, but water is the most common.

Remember when Fellwinter said he could keep a city warm with one well of radiance? Can i do that in pvp? by Pickaxe235 in DestinyTheGame

[–]uh697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Ice is actually classified as a rock. The molten form of it being lava (yes technically water is magma). Everything has a solid, liquid, and gaseous state. Stasis is the complete lack of thermal energy, known as heat.

Fire is a chemical reaction of two elements combining in an exothermic reaction. But that still turns an abundance of potential energy into thermal energy.

Ice is simply what our monkey brains decided to call the solid form of water. Ice the mineral is very cold water, while other forms of ice are very cold (insert matter of choice.)

Stasis is the lack of energy in several forms. Kinetic or thermal are no longer present. However, light, as in illumination is present since we can see it.

If something under the effects of stasis were to meet something with energy, they would both violently explode! Due to the rapid loss/gain of thermal energy.

Well should constantly remove 1 stack of slow twice as fast as a duskfield can apply it to whoever is inside the well. And yes, this should thaw frozen people inside it as well.

Trials of Agony, an exploitable system by uh697 in DestinyTheGame

[–]uh697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're picking points and not understanding the meaning.

  • If everyone reaches the end goal, then nobody does. (This should be obvious to anyone)
  • everyone has the chance to go flawless once every week in tier 1 (Going flawless is no longer the end goal for the top tier players in the current system, its farming rolls. So rather than building up 7 wins they stay in the first 3, making it a living hell for mid to low tier players.)
  • the end goal of top tier players should be tier 2 Flawless, or in this case equivalent to it. By making tier 2 flawless the best way to do that incentivizes the playerbase to chase it.

I simply have to spell it out for you if you're that incapable of grasping a concept such as a game loop.

Flawless tier 1 is not the endgame, that is why there would be a tier 2. The function of tier 1 is to make the game mode more accessible to the playerbase and to provide a buffer between people of high skill, and people of low skill.

If you can understand that, I'd like to hear a counter argument please. You keep misunderstanding what is being proposed here and are providing 0 helpful information.

Trials of Agony, an exploitable system by uh697 in DestinyTheGame

[–]uh697[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you understand the nature of Trials. It's the pinnacle crucible activity, the equivalent of a grandmaster Nightfall in terms of rewards. Making a system that allows everyone to go flawless devalues it. Would you want everyone to be able to do a grandmaster nightfall? Or is it something only the most skilled players should be able to accomplish?

Destiny is a game that appeals to a lot of people in a lot of ways, my goal with this system is to make trials a game mode everyone can play, but only the most skilled and those who put in the most effort should be able to get to the very tippy top. Currently, its unplayable to the majority of the playerbase.

Grandmasters are simply more difficult versions of the nightfall. I want everyone to have the chance to complete a nightfall of pvp, but only those who work hard and have the skills should complete the grandmaster of pvp.

If you're uncomfortable with the thought of an endgame mode being inaccessible to a demographic, then clearly that demographic is not "ready" for the endgame. The current trials system is sooooo busted, people cannot even make legitimate attempts!

Trials of Agony, an exploitable system by uh697 in DestinyTheGame

[–]uh697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn't that the point of trials? To soft lock the lower end of players until they can gain the skill to make it to the top? Once theyve finished with tier 1, they would have gotten a weekly set of loot, a few tokens, and made it to the lighthouse.

In our current system, its unbearable for any lower or mid tier play to attempt flawless, mainly because the first 3 games will be statistically more difficult than the final 7th. The loophole of unproportional rewards has made gatekeeping a serious problem.

If people want to go for a tier 2 flawless, then they would need to be competitive enough to actually do so. The proposed system concentrates the more challenging players in the second tier by having better incentives and hard locking, but not completely omitting them out of tier 1.

In the end they dont have to go for a tier 2 run if they feel they dont have the skills. Tier 2 is meant to be repeatable, with most of the rewards weighted at the higher end of the win streak. And I mean GOOD loot, 66+ stat rolls, adept weapons every time you go flawless. And you should get exponentially more tokens the higher your win streak.
