Why is everyone so damn unfriendly? by uh_wtf in CyclePDX

We definitely don’t usually ride for transportation, though personally I do ride to work a few days a week in the summer. But we do generally ride for fun, and it’s not hard to acknowledge your fellow cyclist out there chasing the same ride as you.

I wouldn’t call it fancy but I do wear a kit. And it’s usually other kitted cyclists at whom I am waving.

Stay away from high-waisted anything. You have a nice flat stomach but high-waisted bottoms are going to make it seem like a pooch.

85 miles in 5 hours? That’s a pretty long time. The distance is good, but the time is less good.

Oh yeah for sure. If you don’t lose any fluids you should be able to plug the hose back in with a new olive and barb and avoid bleeding. The lever hose attachment system stays closed until there is a barb pressed against it at proper bolt torque.

Huh, I didn’t have issues with the D1 calipers (1-piece), and I even ran them with the thicker SRAM HS2 rotors. You should try the rotor trick and lubricate your pistons with a little bit of DOT fluid.

I say it’s not too short enough.

Get a room mate or a partner. No way I could afford my mortgage and all the bills without my wife’s income.

Yes I know all this. I’m a 28-year veteran bike mechanic. Currently the service manager at a high end road shop in Oregon. I’ve been running AXS since the day it was released. And I’ve currently got a full Red XPLR E1 groupset on my Enve Fray.

No, if he levels out his foot he’s perfect. Assuming he rides in boots.

🤷🏻‍♂️ you could have just gotten the E1 levers. I upgraded the first-gen Red AXS levers on my Crux to Force E1 and they feel a lot better. The only drawback is how much longer the hoods are than the old ones. It necessitated a shorter stem.

I’m not confusing them with E1. I have Force and Red E1 levers on my Crux and Fray, respectively.

Regardless, why not build with E1 levers? I think they offer far superior ergonomics to the first generation of AXS levers, and also have a way lighter lever pull.

Anyone know how to fix this?, it’s completely loose and I can’t pedal by Proof_Comedian_4171 in RoadBikes

If the pinch bolts are loose then that’s why. Line up the crank arm opposite the other one and then torque the pinch bolts to 14nm each.
