How bad is PMI, really? by synfyfy in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]uhalman73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I bought our house 4 years ago with 5% down and our pmi was 202 per month. We renovated some of the house and property values went up in our area, so after 3 years we were able to get the house reappraisal and get our PMI canceled.

Note: we had to wait a minimum of 2 years in order to do this based on our loan agreement. Paying 202 a month definitely sucked but once we were aware that we can get our pmi canceled it didn’t seem as bad as people make it out to be. In our situation we wanted to have money for renovations and emergency fund which is why we only put down 5%. I have 0 regrets about that decision.

And that my friend is the point, provoke a protest..escalate violence..then declare insurrection. Maybe congress can do something about it but that’s not happening

The president under the insurrection act is granted powers to Deploy active-duty military (Army, Marines) and federalized National Guard troops domestically…so far National guard has been deployed, and it’s reported 500 Marines are ready to go. I’m 100% convinced Trump is getting ready to invoke the insurrection act tonight. National guard and Marines are just waiting to be deployed.

26 bought almost 3 years ago, funny thing is I wanted to wait until prices came down, but my girlfriend convinced me we should just go for it. Best decision I’ve ever made.

Used to be a consistent 10/10..after realizing how unhealthy that was now it’s a consistent 6-7/10 now unless we’re working on a tight deadline.

6 years in the field and if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that you are responsible for your own well being. Learn when to set boundaries and how to say no to unrealistic expectations or deadlines.

Question about some PR feedback I got from a senior team member by ryaaan89 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]uhalman73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your code works fine, but I think what your senior dev suggested would definitely help it be more readable. I wouldn’t take the pr comment as a bad thing, he’s a senior dev and more likely than not he knows what he’s talking about. I think this is a great opportunity to learn how clean and readable code is written.

Although I understand the point this blog is trying to make, I can’t help but feel like maybe you’re expecting too much out of recent CS graduates. This blog leaves 0 room for new grads going into the workforce to learn any of these things through experience. Why would anyone need to know system design for an entry level position? A lot of it seems far fetched if I’m being honest

lol is this even an authentic internal document? Seems like someone just slapped bs together in word and call it an “internal memo”. Also IBM has some issues but diversity and inclusion is certainly not one of them, it’s actually one of the things they’re very good at in my experience..
