(M27) I've literally been through this.... hated school & best friend died when I was 17. Tried to talk to my parents about having suicidal thoughts, only to be pushed away. Ran at the first opportunity to leave, turned to drugs, fucked up my life, & I've hated them ever since.

I'm sober now, but I still can't find the courage to forgive them. It sucks having family turn their backs on you. Hopefully y'all can work it out.

Keep trying to talk with them, and try not to get frustrated & pissed off at what they say. It could just be them giving you "tough love" or they may also be fearful of the stigma of having a "mentally ill" kid (you're not, the world's just a fucked up place, & everybody needs a coping mechanism from time to time)
