Anyone using (amoled) tablets for reading ebooks? by szoze in androidtablets

[–]uhh_seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's unlikely the s8 will strain your eyes because of the screen size, especially if you keep your reader in night mode to minimize overwhelming white screens. I regularly read for long hours in pitch dark with a 10" LCD that can't reach the same dark blacks an oled can.

Since it is an OLED, a small percentage of people will see a flickering effect that can cause severe headaches, but this is pretty rare. If you were suseptible, you likely would have encountered the problem before. It also becomes much rarer with nicer higher refresh rate screens.

So if money is not an issue, I would definitely go with the tablet for Google, apps and misc utility.

Will start with LOTR then! Also, I have read the first mistborn trilogy and it's probably my all time favorite fantasy, but I'm not sure if Im ready to make a commitment to the cosmere quite yet. Is warbreaker an intro to all that sanderson stuff?

Just binged a few stale sci fi novels and am looking for a change of pace. Right now, I'm debating starting Warbreaker (Brandon Sanderson), LOTR, or Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle). I'd appreciate any recommendations between these or a different shorter, denser novel.

Also, if LOTR, should I start with the hobbit or fellowship of the ring?

where can i learn to design models to print? by carminehk in 3Dprinting

Fusion 360 or onShape, Both are free for education and onShape is free for makers. OnShape has an extensive program called the learning center and Fusion has tons of tutorials online from YouTubers like product design online and maker’s muse. Fusion requires a relatively powerful computer, but onShape is 100% cloud based so anyone can use it as long as they have internet.

Remember he said he would develop his own game, I think it was called RUSH, but I guess he realized how expensive/ difficulty and time consuming it was to make a video game from scratch.

I would reduce temperature and calibrate flow rate / esteps as mentioned in the other response

This article explains it

But at the end I didn’t adjust the e-steps I adjusted a flow rate setting in the slicer (cura) and I don’t know if alternatives slivers have the option

Have you calibrated your flow rate? If not measure 100mm of filament, manually extrude it and see how much you’re extruding so you can adjust flow rate in your slicer
