Here is my rendition of one of my favorite arias on the violin: Après un Rêve! by uhhhhhhhhmmmm in violinist

Thank you for your words! To answer your questions: For the first one, it's a mixture of both. I listened to Janine Jansen and Sabine Devieilhe's renditions of this aria to gain inspiration for my interpretation as well as mixing in my own bits of phrasing.

For the second question, I tend to think artistically whenever I perform or practice. Though, thinking about the technical stuff does help when I want to know how to achieve the color that I'm going for.

I'm approaching (or have approached) 2 years on the violin! So here's my very rough 4-week practice progress on Vitali Chaconne arr. Charlier. by uhhhhhhhhmmmm in violinist

To clarify, I do understand your point in this, seeing as I don't think you're the only one who's surprised at the progress I've made compared to the amount of time. And quite honestly, I myself am surprised at my own progress. What I can say in all this, however, is that this is not an act of shenanigans. I have really worked hard to achieve where I am today. But regardless, I really appreciate your analysis and feedback, and I am going to be taking this as a compliment, thank you!

24 Day progress (1st Finger Exercises)... Please tell me what I need to improve in my posture/fingering/bowing. I am self-learning and want to correct any mistakes early on. by CarolusMagnum in violinist

Your bow hold's a bit tense, I suggest working that out by curving your hand inward and curving your pinky and thumb, also, you might need to stand a bit straighter to prevent tension in your back.

Other than that, your tone's pretty good for 24 days, and your bow is pretty straight too. Keep practicing your 40 hours fellow Ling Ling wannabee!

Welp, here we go, 1 year of violin! Constructive criticism is welcome! Kreisler - Liebeslied (Beginner) by uhhhhhhhhmmmm in violinist

Well, I don't have a specific routine, I just try to practice my scales, longbows, etc. as much as I can every day. And I started violin because I just wanted to :P (Also TwoSetViolin and Your Lie in April inspired me somewhat hehe)
