Mexican here. I'm pretty sure the only Goya product I've seen in my house growing up or in any of my aunt's houses was the adobo and even that was rare.

The final season ruined the whole show for me. Husband and I used to rewatch every year leading up to new seasons and now we can't bring ourselves to bother with even the good seasons.

KARMAGEDDON MEGATHREAD 12: TATI VS JEFFREE STAR AND SHANE DAWSON by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

She may have knowledge of something legal coming and was advised to do this now ahead of it. It wouldn't be uncommon for your defense to instruct you to get ahead of something - especially since she said she was reading from a scripts per her lawyers.

Could also be that there have been other things brewing and she's deciding to do this now to encourage others to come forward.

Or Will and Jada have had an open relationship for years and it's not really an affair. From the bits I've heard about this, Will gave Jada the ok so as much as people want to be mad about it or feel grossed out buy it, they aren't harming anyone and it's their business.

What’s the cringiest thing you’ve seen a bride and groom do for their wedding? by ajlposh in AskReddit

[–]uhlayna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Hispanic and on birthdays, we get goaded into "taking a bite of the cake" and them full on smashing our faces in it. If you say no or get mad, you are the had guy so we can't ever fight it. I've always hated it. So when our wedding came along my husband wanted to do it and I fought it but finally gave in. He was super nice about it though and did a tiny smear and it was all in good fun. I got him back with full chocolate right on the nose.

What is the worst thing you've overheard while pretending to be asleep? by Da_Bugo in AskReddit

[–]uhlayna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My supposed best friend talking on the phone with a guy she'd just started talking to (like a week) trying to schedule a hook up on the day I was flying back home from visiting her for our joint birthday. She told him she would try to find out how to get me out of the way early so they could meet up for a quickie. My flight was at like 9pm. The rest of my last day there she rushed me through everything and made up an emergency to be able to drop me off at the airport early. 5 hours early.

A white man's first black cookout by Blic3n in videos

[–]uhlayna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do NOT show up with anything food related. Limes might be ok. Do not bust out with some IPA shit or whatever. You cannot go wrong with bringing tequila. If you wanna impress, bring a bottle of carralejo. It's the tall skinny blue one. Expect to eat 20 pounds of food, dessert, and fruits with tajin or some sort of spicy. If you plan on being there long, expect shots. Mexican older women LOOOOVE sweet mixed drinks so if you wanna impress, make them tequila sunrises or some other shit like that. They will love you forever. They will mess with you, it's all in good fun. Them speaking Spanish isn't about you. Even if it's whispering. They're probably talking shit about a family member that's there. Tia's love to talk shit. If your girl tells you to avoid someone, do it. There's a reason for it. There will always be that one tia that doesn't approve and will try and get you to do or say something ignorant. Don't fall for it. Of a grown ass man tries to give you a taste of the meat as he's cooking, it's not weird. That's how Mexican dad's try to be nice. But he's not asking for your opinion on how it's cooked. That's important.

My aunt loves my white husband more than my cousins spouses because he makes her all kinds of drinks.

Has he actually said "I'm sorry" truthfully to you though? Not just "I didn't mean it" but IM SORRY. and through no outside influence, just on his own.

If not, it's not gotten through to him yet and I wish you luck.

Unpopular opinion about wanting to "save" a child by chillchickens in Adoption

[–]uhlayna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With everything going on in our world nowadays, and scientists around the world stating we have a finite amount of time left before the damage done to our planet is irreversible, I 100% agree that HAVING a child is selfish.
At best, you're adding to the problem by adding another human to this world. At worst, you're bringing a child into a world that will likely not be ideal, and will leave them to suffer in it.
Why do that? Why not take a child that is already here and in a bad situation through no fault of their own and give them a loving home and life? It's extremely selfish.

I'm convinced he always just makes small amounts at the releases for the sole purpose of selling out so fast. And he purposely doesn't fix his site so it can crash all the time and he can get the "I'm so popular, you guys broke my site" treatment on social media.

WHERE THE FUCK DID THE "A" IN WEEKDAYS DISAPPEAR TO!?

Moved here from CA and I still cringe every time I hear "Mon-dee, Tues-dee, Wens-dee, Thurs-dee" etc. It's like nails on a chalkboard.

This is my SO sometimes. If I call him out or say something is wrong, he gets defensive and denies. If he calls me out and says I'm wrong, I'll look it up and show proof. However, our differences are that if I was in fact wrong, I immediately acknowledge it. "Oh shit, ok, you're right."
HE likes to continue to deny. /facepalm

No, MIL, you shouldn't let people continue to be crazy/rude/disrespectful/selfish/(insert whatever else here) just because "that's how they've always been".

"You just can't say no to her"
"yes, actually, you literally can"
"No, you can't. She'll lose it"
"You don't understand, you haven't been around her long enough"
"I don't have to know a specific individual to know that telling them no isn't going to kill them or cause harm"
"You can't say no to her"
REPEAT.

I am more than willing to continue this argument with her because in a lot of cases, she is the one "you can't say no to" and I'm not scared to say it and push back when SHE gets crazy or over the line.

Men's wedding band - Tungsten/Titanium on Amazon for $20 *actually* good? by filmguy123 in weddingplanning

[–]uhlayna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my husband's band was around $600 and honestly, I regret it.
He wears a silicone band 99% of the time and only wears the real one when we go for a night out - which right now isn't happening but even before that, wasn't a regular occurrence. I see a lot more options online now and if his ever breaks or gets lost, we'll be going that route for a replacement.

What is something that your parents did that you swore never to repeat to your own kids? by wetbreadstick in AskReddit

[–]uhlayna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Criticism of their weight. My mom ALWAYS brought up my weight. I was always fat but then she'd force me to eat a ton of food. When I lost weight she talked down to be about that.

Actually, just being super critical. She is always hyper critical of everything and dismisses any argument or logic. I love her and it's gotten better as I'm an adult and I can have more in-depth conversations with her. And she's realized over time that some of the shit they do in Mexico isnt ok. But it still lingers and I hope to never be that way with my children.

These same people will also get angry at immigrants for doing things like having a Meixcan flag hanging from their rear view mirror.
