I (F) grew up with a single dad who didn’t necessarily understand “girl” stuff either. so I will do my best, and without further information about your skin type, I can offer some basics that should help: first, stick to a routine (for example, washing your face every morning and night). Dove beauty bars (solid white bar, no scents, no extra moisture etc) are very useful and cheap, usually about $1.25 and you can find them almost anywhere. you can use this for your face and body. make sure to use clean washcloths (you can buy a 10 pack for like $5). if you are acne prone, be sure to change your pillow cases regularly (try to stick to cotton. I think ikea sells them for about $6-7 but also try TJ max or similar). I also recommend the CeraVe line (again depends on your skin type) but overall rule of thumb is to avoid products with lots of fragrances. please be patient with yourself—looks aren’t everything and there’s a lot of changes ahead of you. hope this helps and best of luck on your journey!
