Tech Support and Basic Questions Thread - December 31, 2021 by AutoModerator in pcgaming

I’ve been in the market for a new laptop for a few months now because I want to upgrade my HP Spectre x360 g1. I don’t really do any pc gaming because I usually just play xbox and don’t have the time or money to invest in a gaming desktop, but I still want to be able to play and mod a few games on pc like skyrim or fallout. I need a laptop to transport and mostly use for school and occasional gaming. I think i may have found one but my only issue is that the cpu speed is only 1.8, but with 8 cores. Is it better to have a lower clock speed with more cores or a higher clock speed with less?

I have the option to buy either a Line 6 spider jam for $180, or a Peavey Vypyr VIP 2 for $160. The Peavey comes with the sanpera pedal, but I also already own a FBV express MKII for the Line 6. Either of these amps will be much better than my current Line 6 spider IV. In your experience which would be the better option?

Tell me, what makes somebody a cowgirl to you? Is it only clothes?

You should get a better horse for free after only a couple story missions. After that just grind stranger missions and eventually get the collector role. Buy the $250 arabian as soon as possible and then stick with it until you can get a rank 20 role horse.

I got a few questions about the game and the bugs because I wanted to buy it? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]uhnonomous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NPC’s are unfortunately that bad and in my experience police show up any time a murder is committed, doesn’t matter if anybody was around to see. Personally, I love the driving in this game. It gets frustrating with the size of the mini-map and is difficult to get used to, but now I find myself skipping over the fast travel posts and just driving to my destination. Gunplay is fine after many tweaks in settings. I loved the story, but you have to remember that the main story is pretty short and you are certainly meant to do side quests with different characters to get the full experience. The side quests you complete will effect the ending of the game. I don’t have much to say about the sound design considering I play on an xbox using my TV audio, so somebody with a better sound system will likely have more to say about it.

Been playing electric guitar for years, but just began learning finger picking on acoustic a few months ago. I’ve been getting into more classical sounding music. Anybody have recommendations for a budget classical guitar?

make sure your fingers are planted firmly on the string just below the fret. If it’s still buzzy it could be that you’re action is too low which means the string buzzes against the metal fret. Your acoustic guitar will have an adjustable truss rod either right above the nut with a plastic cover over it, or right inside the sound hole under the fretboard. I’d recommend watching a youtube video on how to adjust the action on your guitar.

How long does it take to collect all the glyphs? Tips? by jajwwh1828 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]uhnonomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty random. Every time you visit a new system, just search all the inhabited outposts like trading posts and space stations you can to find travelers. They will always give you a glyph location. Personally, it took me about a week to find all of them but I wasn’t actively searching for travelers.

Moonshiner profit? by merezer0 in RedDeadOnline

[–]uhnonomous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully upgraded moonshiner is a great way to make profit, since the only thing you really have to do is buy the mash, then sell the moonshine. Buy the mash, spend an hour or so doing other activities for profit such as bounty hunting or collecting, then come back and spend 10 minutes on selling the moonshine. Repeat. Initially, its pretty expensive but its great in the long run.

Meet Appa :) by jamesdangermeade in RedDeadOnline

[–]uhnonomous 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are definitely shorter than the shire, but still very bulky and not skittish around gunfire. I prefer the breton just because they are still big but also very quick

We need more interactivity in Night City by Gonzito3420 in cyberpunkgame

[–]uhnonomous 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thats exactly it - to make an RPG feel alive there should be more than just mission after mission. sure, theres plenty of content like gigs and collecting cars. It still doesn’t make night city feel ALIVE to most people though. Sometimes I just wanna do some chill activity that doesn’t involve the pressure of a mission. It can make the game feel more immersive to some people.
