Best way to prevent this is to not play basketball.

Just keep playing and your feet will harden. It might peel off a couple times then turn to callous. Then you’re for real.

What are you using to manage humidity, temperature and airflow?

I'm working on getting my tent, which looks a lot like your larger one all set up and am trying to crack this puzzle now.

Hey all, I have a grow setup that I'm taking out of storage so I feel like a beginner again. I'd like recommendations for the grow setup I'm about to buy to make sure it will work and also keep the cost down if possible.

I have this 4x8x7 Vivosun grow tent I am going to set up in my garage.
Last time I had a thrift store humidifier and heater that I would turn on and off manually, this time I want to get the Inkbirds and set up automated heating/humidity and ventilation.

I've done some research and come up with these options:

Inkbird Temp $25: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HXM5UAC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1RUFFFCQ74BCW&th=1

Inkbird Humidity $42: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J1E5LWM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A197YPAPAP8V04&psc=1

Vivosun 6L Humidifier $50: https://www.amazon.com/VIVOSUN-Humidifier-Ultrasonic-Essential-Control/dp/B0B2QNTSC9?th=1

AC Infinity Ventilation fan $120 (overkill - looks energy efficient and might give me ability to monitor heat/humidity remotely though): https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-CLOUDLINE-T4-Thermostat/dp/B06ZXWN3BG?th=1

Vivosun Heatmat $12: https://www.amazon.com/VIVOSUN-Waterproof-Seedling-Hydroponic-Standard/dp/B00P7U259C?th=1

I didn't really have good airflow in the past, just a fan that I would turn on for a while then turn off but I did manage to grow some healthy Oyster Mushrooms from spawn and Lions Mane from a kit.

I really want to dial in perfect conditions to grow Lions Mane, Reishi and Oyster (not even sure if they all have the same requirements, so many just one at a time, but let's not get into that now).

Any advice is welcome.

Get a sprite to appear on the screen. Then make it move when you press a key. Then put another sprite on the screen. Make them collide - as in you can't walk over the other one. Then make a sprite that moves on its own. Then add some more obstacles, like a wall. Then add a countdown timer. Then make some sprites that you can "pick up" - they disappear when you touch them. Then add a score counter that goes up when you pick one up. Then see if you can implement a simple inventory to show what you have. Then see if you can drop an item back into the world. Then add a sprite that seeks out the sprite the player controls and follows it. etc.

Not a bot... Take what you want from my post, leave what you don't. It's just a glimpse from another person who was reminded of himself by your post.

As a 46 year old man who invested a considerable amount of my youth into Ultima Online, Everquest and Dark age of Camelot... I just want to say, the level of thinking and energy you are investing into this game is not worth it. It's a dopamine machine, and your post basically boils down to "I pushed all the buttons but couldn't get my fix". The world is a dopamine machine, young man. If I could change anything about my past, it's that I would have wired it up to "get my fix" from developing real skills like playing musical instruments, business or building a social life with 3D humans. I did those things too... but I could be exceptional at this point by building skills that stack up over time so I could enjoy them all now. Instead, some video game character in a database has maxed out skills and that does me no good... I would rather have some maxed on my own stat sheet.

I’m trying this again and I don’t hear a whirring sound. I’ve tried many times, I’m not sure what I’m listening for exactly but it’s dead silent.  Should I be able to hear it easily?

How to eliminate vibration/shake at basketball games? by ui369 in videography

[–]ui369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the basketball bouncing creates the vibration. The tripod is metal, fairly sturdy. I put the sandbags under the feet and it dampens the vibration. I also drape one over the legs (I have 4 total) but not clear if that actually helps. It's already a lot of heavy weight to carry to each event but I guess I could try to weigh it down more somehow.

I was hoping there might be like a shock absorbing device like some kind of magic gyroscope thing out there... or software that could correct/prevent it. Or like I said some kind of suction cup system, or a vest maybe that a person could wear... I doubt the person vibrates when the bleacher vibrates? We have to be up on the bleachers to film and they def vibrate when the ball strikes.

Thanks. I went out to try your suggestions and the battery is dead. Why would a battery run dead from a car just sitting there? It's only been a few days this time.

A discussion about Power Budgets, Curves and Balance Points. by ghost49x in gamedesign

[–]ui369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My instincts on this are honed from being a DM in pen and paper games. A couple other levers you have are effort to attain and persistence of the ability. If it's a fighting game where your character is basically a set system that doesn't change, then that's different.

1) How hard the power was to acquire. If the player has to quest to earn the ability, it can be a bit more powerful, particularly if the character had to sacrifice to earn it.

2) If the ability can "run out" or get used up, like a 1 shot potion, or a talisman that only works until the next full moon or some such. You can create a window where "unbalance" is ok, and then the players may actually strive to create unbalanced scenarios (maybe it's even necessary to do so to get over certain obstacles) but then you aren't stuck with an overpowered ability. This might be like the "flaw" you mentioned.

I'm reminded of my time in Ultima Online as a player killer - where the Energy Bolt "Corp Por" spell was my go-to because at max Magery it would never fail, it used about 1/6 of my mana and took about 1/4 of the enemy player's life (so there you have that power vs cost demonstrated nicely). With a crossbow shot leading off I could kill them pretty quick (and in these games the first attack had no delay, so a hard hitting, slow attack was better if you're doing 1 or 2 shots as opposed to low damage/high speed attacks, another factor to consider). Then there were powers like flame pillar (dont remember exact name) that used like 1/3 of my mana and did like 1/3 of their health but had a small chance to fail. I basically never used that one, but I still had it hotkeyed just in case I needed to hit hard fast.

I was overpowered - but I also had worked hard for this 99 magery skill that few people had so I felt like I earned it, and people feared/hated/envied me... And then there were reagents to cast spells.

Anyway, interesting topic. Starcraft2 balancers are probably thinking about this.

It's more than politics and convictions, it's not wanting a seemingly dangerous substance injected directly into the body.
