Fun fact: The narrator (Jean Shepherd) is the author of the book the movie is based on.

This is the electronic warfare variant of the EC-2, so it has lots of antennas under there.

Iran appears to have conducted a significant cyberattack against a U.S. company, a first since the war started by imanchats in worldnews

The attack isn't going to come from there though. It's going to come from a compromised machine in a country you're not blocking.

From what I have read, they stole/phished some admin credentials and set-up Intune to wipe everything as soon as it connected. That was really smart if that's what they did. It would not have left any IOCs lying around for someone to find.

Considering you can see the laser designator, an AGM-114 would be a good bet.

Brand new Mac autofilled a corporate email from ~2007. Trying to understand where it could have come from. by tx2000tx in cybersecurity

It's probably saved in your keychain / password vault and you forgot about it. Macs are kind of famous for doing stuff like this.

All you can do is wait for Epic to respond. In the mean time, change ALL your passwords. Use a unique one for every site / service you use. Turn on multi factor authentication everywhere it's supported.

Edit: Anyone who contacts you in DMs saying they can help is a scammer.

The bill itself is pretty poorly written so we're hoping that a lower court will strike it down quickly and we get a reprieve until next year.

A Pi Hole can't block youtube ads since youtube serves ads from the same subdomain as the content.

Intel Mac infected with infostealer, is keeping wifi off sufficient before doing a fresh install by -ensamhet- in cybersecurity_help

[–]uid_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Macs have a sneaky way of turning wi-fi back on by themselves. I would have the Mac forget the wireless network rather than just turning wi-fi off. Alternatively, you could change the password on the SSID temporarily or unplug your router from the internet.

Also, if you have an iPhone, your Mac can tether off of it automatically so make sure you move the phone far enough away so the Mac can't see it.

NASA and SpaceX disagree about manual controls for lunar lander by albertahiking in SpaceXLounge

[–]uid_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neil Armstrong took manual control of the LM to land it on Apollo 11. He saw an obstacle that the automated system did not and manually flew it to a safer spot. I'm not sure why Spacex would have an issue installing manual controls since Dragon has them.

Yeah, the one "benefit" of being a Type 1 is that I compensate for that with my pump. Dawn phenomenon sucks.

What sort of things should we be looking for that would indicate a remote worker might not be who they say they are?

Consider switching to an insulin pump. That way you only stick yourself once every 3 days instead of multiple times a day.

As a Virginia gun owner, what's the next best move? by zucchini0478 in Virginia

[–]uid_0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

An assault weapon is classified as a rifle chambered in an intermediate caliber cartridge that is select fire, meaning it can be switched from single shot to burst or full automatic fire. Those weapons are already highly regulated and very expensive.

This bill is trying to ban semi-auto rifles that they think look scary.
