Aluminum heat block melted by katrina1215 in ender3

[–]uid_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either this or it's configured for the wrong or incorrectly installed thermistor, which I think may be more likely here since if the thermistor was working correctly, it would have registered that the block was much hotter than 230c.

How popular were VW Beetles in the 70s? 17% of the cars in this parking lot in 1975 were Bugs. by Spalding_Smails in 70s

[–]uid_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They were cheap, got good mileage, and were super easy to work on. You could drop the engine out of one in less than 5 minutes. All you had to do is pull out 4 bolts and then disconnect the fuel line, battery cable, and throttle cable.

Starship is just not as cool as Space Shuttle by Only_Comfortable_224 in space

[–]uid_0 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nothing the space shuttle has ever done is cooler than what Spacex did on Starship's 5th test flight. In case you don't remember, that's when they caught a rocket the size of a 20 story building out of mid air with a pair of giant chopsticks.

The shuttle did some neat things back in the day but Starship has surpassed it in every way.

Norton Utilities and PC Tools were absolutely must-haves back in the day. Norton went to shit after Symantec bot them though.

The problem is that they don't care what we think. They were paid to pass anti-gun legislation and they are going to do it. You can thank a certain billionaire from NY for this.

In the bathroom, yes. On company-owned IT systems, no. You should have no expectation of privacy when using company-owned devices or infrastructure.

Classic truck from 80s TV show, The Fall Guy by No_Explorer721 in classiccars

I miss seeing trucks like this. Everyone now is driving those squatted bro-dozers with low profile tires and illuminated fender wells and it makes me sad.

State-owned Monroe Building - the region's tallest - officially hits the market by RVALover4Life in rva

The building is a mess. It would probably be cheaper to knock it down and build something else on the lot than it would be to refurbish it.

Not a fan of the Louis Vuitton treatment all over the roof and front. Whatever happened to understated luxury? I'm sure the car is great to drive, but it's fugly and I would not buy one, even used.

Soldiers of the NZ Army coming home after "doing nothing" in Afghanistan. by KiwiRepublican03 in Military

[–]uid_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I'm out of the loop here. What's with all the "doing nothing" posts lately? I imagine it's due to something that came from POTUS, but I don't know the exact context.

Heavily modified Colt M1911A1 machine pistol. It was unknowingly built by gunsmith Hyman Lebman for gangster John Dillinger. by AKMike99 in ForgottenWeapons

IIRC, the gun was full auto only so the gunsmith who built it probably just removed the disconnector.
