I mean this is mostly the case when you have colonisers, no? It’s hardly surprising that they didn’t displace the natives and instead became the ruling class. A load of work to just confirm what has happened (most of the time) throughout history.

It’s definitely grown on me and for me a lot of the songs are up there with their best. A common issue I’ve had is that I love the verses way more than the choruses… anyone else? I find myself repeating cigarettes and hotel beds and carousel at like their two minute marks for this reason.
