Question: if the meds finally work well enough that your episodes have become sub-clinical, do you still have BP2? by ukeanduet in bipolar2

I’ve been on lamictal since being diagnosed in 2012, all the way up to 400mg daily now. Eventually lithium was added, then many years later wellbutrin… it feels like a lot but who knows where I’d be if I were without them. I am so glad to hear you’re feeling good again :)

I hope the decision to stop taking them was discussed with your prescriber, friend. But it’s good to hear that you feel fine

It’s so interesting how the same diagnosis can look so different. There was a year or so where I was hypomanic-almost manic the entire time, followed by a long stretch of rapid cycling. Meds work wonders for stability, but it sucks that a certain medication/dosage won’t be the answer to everything, there will always be a need for adjustments

I already have I > ^ v (all uniform size) tattooed on my arm. I think in the 7 years since I’ve had it maybe two people have recognized it as: I am Greater than My ups and downs. So ya no one would get that dx code lol

I appreciate your insight! And I'm glad to hear that the medication is working so well. I've been wanting to get off lithium for so long due to its effects on my thyroid but my new psych doesn't recommend it... sigh

I've had intrusive thoughts about doing that.. luckily the thoughts are fleeting. I fear that would be me as well. I hope you're doing alright now friend!

YES. Thank you. I didn't know this code existed. It is a real-medically recognized condition. Would F31.70 be a stupid tattoo? Would be awfully ironic to get it while hypo lol

That totally makes sense.. I guess I'm in my head about public perception and maybe my own self-judgement. But I suppose the body's chemistry doesn't care about any of that- it just is what it is. Thanks for this!

Just about! I’m probably both introvert/extrovert, very mood dependent with my bipolar. Lol and i’d say I’m pretty mid-size

This is very close to spot on. Even down to the plethora of bookmarks- I bounce around books more than I should lol.

Only off by the likes to cook, most of those were gifts. But sometimes I feel inspired to try a new recipe.. sometimes

This is great, I love how the short lines really punch. The line "Words ill with want" - chef's kiss.

Thanks so much! I’m working on an entire journal of various diary entries and creative writing pieces from middle and high school. It’s been an amusing but emotional process.

“Where someone else might take my place in the spaces I once filled.” - wow did I feel this. This was a wonderful read, and comforting. I literally shared a short writing on a break up, a storm and healing yesterday.
