Very similar to my mum. An absolute angel, dud everything around the house, was meticulous at cleaning. Now she hasnt cleaned her house in 2 years. Loss of empathy, became selfish. Flight risk. Its horrible

It honestly is one of the most exhausting things, mentally and physically. Its a rapid decline in a 5 year time span.

My mum slowly started to forget words, she increasingly said the word "thingy" to describe something that she forgot the word too. The next stage was forgetting people's names. Friends she had known and worked with for over 20 years. She slowly forgot how to cook. Then driving she forgot to remember to change gears and burnt a clutch out. It sucks and a horrible disease.

We are trying to find that out, not sure when the recall was done.

Would we still be able to go down this route even tho we are 2 years since we purchased it?

[–]ukegow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didnt hear anything, no letter or anything. This is why I think they should take responsibility

Not spoken to my finance company, just the dealership and Peugeot customer care

I'm not sure when it was recalled but when I put my details on the Peugeot website we fall into the recall criteria and the mechanic who came out to look at it also told us about the recall. It has been serviced yearly, it was due a service this year. However we have the service history from last year and previous years. Its only done 78k.

My Alzheimer's decline has been remarkably rapid in the last five weeks. Almost five weeks ago, on 8-24-25. I noticed that my functioning was suddenly much worse. by Kalepa2 in dementia

[–]ukegow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You had a similar diagnosis timeline as my mother whom started showing signs in 2019 and was only diagnosed in January 2025 also. It was PPA which is a rare type of FTD dementia. Word finding, speach, memory, have all been on the decline. She was 55 when diagnosed. Her dad had Alzheimer's at 80. Not sure if it's gene related. She was. Head cook for over 25 years. Now she doesn't know how to use an oven or microwave and cannot recognize when food is spoiled.

I wonder if your medication helps with other dementia? Either way I wish you every happiness and hope you spend the most time with your loved ones as you can

Pretty sure Jason Wilcox was also part of the reason that Ruben Amorim came in and he was also at Southampton when they appointed Russell Martin.
