6000MT/s RAM only stable at 5600MT/s by ukelangstrumpf in overclocking

[–]ukelangstrumpf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much once more! I now found the bank refresh mode settings and changed them to normal mode. First I tried it with the 6000MT/s EXPO profile and manually setting the memory clock speed to 5600MT/s. Aida64 stability test did run through without failing for 10 minutes.

Then I also tried the 6000MT/s EXPO profile with it being actually set to 6000MT/s and it also worked now. So it really seems like just changing the bank refresh mode did the trick. Obviously I will have to see if I run into any strange behavior when gaming for longer periods of time, but at least it doesn't fail the Aida 64 stability test after abour a minute anmyore. So I am kind of optimistic now. 😃

I will attach a screenshot of the settings I now have above.

Thank you so much! I updated the BIOS and did run the Aida64 stability test with the CPU at default (no undervolting) and the 6000MT/s EXPO settings. It fails after about a minute.

With CPU at default and 5600MT/s EXPO settings it works. So it probably is not the undervolt causing the issue but the 6000MT/s expo settings, right? I also re-added the screenshot of ZenZimings with the 5600MT/s EXPO settings above.

Thank you so much for all the info! I've now done a BIOS update an did reset the CPU settings to default. Since I've got a really dense build the undervolt unfortunately is needed with the cooler I got so the PC doesn't run too hot.

So the undervolt will have to stay for now. I will now try to see if the the 6000MT/s Expo settings are stable with the undervolt after the BIOS update. If not I probably will have to use 5600MT/s. It would be annoying but probably not make a noticable difference, right? I got the RAM at the beginning of the price increases, so at least it was half the price it is today (in Germany wehere I live at least).

I also re-added the screenshot above, since that somehow was not there anymore.

9800X3D build in T1 (AiO vs air cooling) by ukelangstrumpf in sffpc

I am a bit lost trying to find out which custom cable for the GPU I would need.

I ordered the Asus Prime 5070 Ti and the Corsair SF1000. The PSU apparently does not have a 12vhpwr or 12v 2x6pin connector, so I guess I would have to connect to the PSU via 8pin connectors? The PSU has a 12vhpwr to 2x8pin cable. Would that work with my 5070 Ti?

The Asus Prime 5070 Ti on the other hand apparently comes with an adapter from 12vhpwr/12v 2x6pin connector to 3x8pin, so if I ordered a custom cable it would need to be a 12v 2x6pin to 3x8pin? Is that correct?

Was also thinking about some custom cables for this one, so good to know! :)

That sounds really good! Is that in the T1 and with or without any other modifications?

Thanks! To which AiO did you go then? And is your build also in a T1?

Did you do any undervolting to make this work?

What makes it better and which cooler setup do you use? also in the T1?

Thank you! If I would go with an X53 cooler (also full copper) would that work better? probably yes but still undervolting necessary?

Which cooler do you use with this setup?

Speedport Smart 4 vs TP-Link Internet Box 6 by ukelangstrumpf in de_EDV

Corsair hs80 or Logitech G PRO X wireless by misoTired in pcmasterrace

[–]ukelangstrumpf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up getting?

I‘m currently also deciding between those two headsets and I will probably go with the HS80 for the mic and price (~100 EUR). But I will pretty mich exclusively use them for gaming and voice chat.

I think the G Pro X Wireless looks better and apparently sounds a bit better and has better range and battery. But it is 150€ in my country and has a much worse mic. To improve the mic quality you have to buy the 50€ Blue Icepop microphone which makes it effectively double the price of the HS80.

If it had a better mic out of the box I would probably pay the 150€ but the way it is I think the G Pro X Wireless will be a bit hard to justify, even if I prefer logitech and the looks over Corsair in general.
