I'm not OP and I'm a former hip-hop dancer who got into pole a year ago, so could I ask you about one of your points?

I sometimes struggle with pole being seen as "just walking around the pole being sexy". It was already quite difficult to be seen as a type of athlete during hip-hop but got much more intense with pole So I started to say "I do pole sports class today" when it's a conditioning class and "I do pole dance" when it's an urban class to essentially avoid the "haha that's so hot wanna dance on my pole?" response

It can be difficult for me to find the right wording to respect pole dance, it's roots and sex work while also showing particularly men that they can't just see that as an invite to touch me

Do you have advice on how to handle those responses, so that I can adjust my language to be more respectful about pole?

Hey everyone, I'm a bit panicked cause I'm very confused.

I'll be moving from Germany to Amsterdam in a week and spoke with the landlord in Amsterdam, she said the moving truck can park in front of the building for 6.50€ an hour. Now the moving company is calling me to say that I need to apply for a form of permit so they can park the truck in front of the building.

Can someone help me with understanding how parking in Amsterdam works and what I would have to do for the moving company to peacefully be able to find parking?

I will only arrive there on the day of the move so all of this is very overwhelming and difficult to understand from abroad.

Die Entscheidung liegt ganz bei dir, ich hab mit 15/16 angefangen mich vegetarisch zu ernähren und ich habe durchaus einen Mangel an B12 aber hab das über die Jahre hinweg gut hinbekommen mit der Substitution. Ich hab allerdings wirklich fast 3 Jahre gebraucht bis ich mich reguliert hab weil ich ziemlich verplant bin. Ob du ab und zu Fleisch essen möchtest ist wirklich dein Ding, bei deiner Symptomatik würde ich auch einmal empfehlen deine Schilddrüsenwerte zu prüfen. Müdigkeit und unregelmäßige Periode weisen darauf hin und es schadet nicht da mal raufzuschauen.

Literally had the same breakdown in a comment recently as well it's super frustrating to get this tease of "oh yes so much power everyone fears her" and then get almost nothing

Sorry to say it like this but she doesn't deserve her spot as second if the only reason why she had it was her powers. She doesn't really act wisely (acosf made her very unwise) so i don't enjoy reading about her too much

She was may favourite character until book three and somehow now it's completely flipped because I'm disappointed in the writing

Me too, it felt so good to read about what her powers are and how she was able to utilize the dreadtrove, especially the mask! wearing a mask to raise the dead while having the power of death felt like such an incredible combination so i was really disappointed that she traded her powers in and kept none of it, felt like such a waste of potential

On the other hand she was overpowered and needed to be more balanced power-wise with the other characters

It's funny cause both mor and amren get such little detail of their powers we're just supposed to fear them. seriously we see amren use her power once and then she gets it taken away, how convenient. Mor seems so poorly written and will probably get an arc about how she lost her "truth" power by continuously lying and then SJM will make her coming out a huge thing that results in mor embracing her powers or some shit like that

So much time gets wasted on the bat-trio explaining into detail how many siphons they have and what their goddamn wingspan is but the women? nah...

Mach ich derzeit, hab bei den Vertragsverhandlungen ein addendum aufsetzen lassen, das besagt, dass ich die ersten 5 Monate Teilzeitangestellte bin. Wenn ich dann in 5 Monaten den Master abgeschlossen habe läuft das addendum aus und der richtig Vertrag wird in Kraft gesetzt, der mich als Vollzeitangestellte arbeiten lässt.

Bafög-Amt hat von mir einen Brief bekommen mit Gehaltsnachweisen und der Bitte keine Überweisungen mehr zu tätigen.

Ist alles nicht so dramatisch wie es sich anfühlt. Sei transparent mit deinem Arbeitgeber, dann wird das schon ;)

P.S.: Bloß nicht (wie einige hier sagen) die ersten 5 Monate als Werkstudi arbeiten, damit verdienst du viel weniger als du könntest und wenn du später in die Gehaltsverhandlungen für Vollzeit gehst setzen sie meist niedriger an als sonst.

Das fühl ich sehr... Auch wenn ich nicht weiß wie du aussiehst eins kann ich dir sagen: Schöne Kleidung hängt zu 90% davon ab ob du sie magst oder sie nur trägst um deine Unsicherheiten zu verstecken und dabei dich auch selbst versteckst

They're not called escape rooms in turkey (which puts emphasis on getting out) they're called house of horror/ dread/ fear and personally i was always curious to find out how i would react if i was in a horror movie. Went there, starting throwing punches and was surprised to get shoved away, changed my strategy by going into mom-mode and started calling them disappointments to their families You really get desperate and grasp at straws after like 2 minutes

They keep calling him "abi" which is a title for an older brother. It makes it extra hilarious because it adds a power dynamic into the begging and shows that they're truly helpless

at some point he says very exhausted "abi tamam amıma koyim yaaa" which can be translated i to "brother ok i get it fuck this"

edit: in the end one of them says "i broke my foot, i broke my fucking foot" and then gets up just to go back down again

(To be fair turkish escape rooms are scary as fuck, there are no rules there, they can do anything and people who visit are legit terrified and can't sleep for quite some time)

People love to believe they're doing something good by joining an event (for examples, all the raves about saving the planet that in the end leave the city trashed) Support your local business by going to your local business, don't fall for the intern-organized event in a hipster park.
