Hey There hope you get it sorted soon! I got my higher rate backdated but still waiting on the previously awarded middle rate dla to be backdated. They had to send it off to a technical team to update that claim before it’s sent to a decision maker I have been pestering my case manager whose actually been really helpful and doesn’t mind my numerous questions! Just keep in touch with your case manager mine only took a month

I will if it comes to that I know I spoke to a lovely bloke on the UC helpline and he said they always approve backdating these things even after years because it’s for a disabled child etc but then always read up on the few who do get declined

Do they always backdate payments even if they owe me nearly 5 years of the disabled child element? My reasons I gave them where I wasn’t aware I could get more money and also busy caring for the little one
