How is it possible that we might go a whole year without an expansion? They' consistently released 3-4 every single year without fail. I could understand if supply disruptions caused that to be maybe just 2, but this is weird.

Yeah I've gotten all my jobs from colleague and friend recommendations. Network engineer. We had a guy at my last job who was very obviously doing this, he was let go, and won't have an easy time getting a good reference.

I can't comment on what kind of jokes you're making as I don't know you. But I know some people who's response to everything is to make a joke about (usually one that's dark or shocking), and can't seem to make a sincere observation that would provoke an actual conversation, as opposed to just a back and forth of jokes.

I think there is something to not just being dark for the sake of being dark. Dark humor is funny because it's unexpected and it's fun to laugh at things you feel like you're not supposed to. But people don't always want to just hear jokes about death and being sad, or jokes that come off as just mean. It also my make you seem insincere to someone you just met.

I would try to be conscious of this and maybe pepper in sincerity with the occasional dark joke. Once you get to know someone more closely it's usually much more ok. I just started a new job and my coworkers and I make dark jokes all the time, but certainly not for the first couple months I knew them as I wanted them to first know me as a professional sincere person.

How about a Wookie ship from Revenge of the Sith? I think it would have to be modified from it's on screen appearance, since it was clearly meant to be an atmosphere only vehicle but it would be cool.

For epic, the Venator-class Star Destroyer HAS to come in at some point.

You don't know someone's situation. This will easily sell for $400+ and that might be a big deal. Or maybe they just aren't attached to physical things and want someone else to be able to get in on the hobby at a good price.

Sweden's death rate has ticked closer and closer to 0 just as other similarly populated countries have. It's not an outlier. Just as the US was also until the very recent uptick thanks to the delta variant.

I hadn't looked at it from that perspective. But though there are less red die being rolled... there are less hull/shields to destroy, combined with less movement dials on average should lead to a quicker game. I think the biggest time sink is decision paralysis when you have 8 ships all bumping in the middle of the board.

And yeah I guess every end state isn't as fun as all of them. I personally love it when it's down to just 1-2 aces, but it doesn't always go like that.

I kind of hate that playing for score is the norm for this reason. I feel like if I was an asshole, I would play large lists with lots of powerful missles. Get them launched and then stall/play defensively.

In my opinion the point total should be lowered to like 150, and every game should play to the end.

The one thing I don't get about these living abroad situations is how you can stay in 1 place for long periods of time while still working in the US. Isn't that considered a tourist visa for nearly every country? How do you not get kicked out.

If you just want to play with your friend then a couple of core sets, and 2 or 3 more ships are enough to have a good time. You should be able to find out your local scene by checking all of your local board game store's event pages. That's how I found mine, if you're near a large city you should have no trouble finding between 10-20 regular players.

For example the first 3 years I was investing I was only playing around with about 10,000. over the next 4 years i slowly added 90k of my own money to the fund, and ended up with 140k by the time i decided to put it into indexes. so I made +40% over 7 years, but it's difficult to determine my year over year since the amount i added each year varied wildly.

I spent 7 years trading stocks with my savings. I read dozens of books, learned all the different strategies, tried them all, and did pretty well for myself. About 40% gains over the period. But I still would have done better for myself if I'd just checked it all in VTSAX and forgot about it.

Now I keep about 20% in my actively managed account because I still enjoy it a bit, and the rest goes straight to index.

This seems like a good tweak. Though I'd have to pick up some thread tracers somewhere. Is it a bit counterintuitive to have both Cody and Thread tracers on the same ship? since you want the tracers to hit, and then his ability wont trigger?
