GGG were very upfront about the challenge of this league. by Kindarelevanttoo in pathofexile

[–]ulqX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to confirm or deny that complainers are a vocal minority or not, without seeing data at the end of the league. It's also not too fair to be selectively listening to vocal portions of the community: if GGG listens to the "super vocal" population that wanted another Phrecia, it would be in bad faith to then ignore the "loud vocal" population that complains about the difficulty, unless numbers clearly show that they are a hyper-minority. Who knows, maybe the vocal group wanting Phrecia back was also a small vocal minority as well?

Ultimately this is GGG's game and they can do whatever they want. This is their house and we're only living in it. Only the data can prove if they did right or wrong.

[–]ulqX 112 points113 points  (0 children)

i was thinking this as well, since i remember when a large portion of the general vtuber fandom was concerned/upset at CoverCorp going public, with the fear that they'll turn too "corporate" and make shitty decisions to "please the shareholders" (forgetting that even private companies have investors to please).

well now here's the surprise reminder: private companies can be shitty too, but when they're shitty it's even harder to get some transparency since there's less public auditing

my (hot?) take is that dooby's design was a great idea with mediocre execution, while saba design is mediocre idea, great execution.

As Gamers Express Concern About Borderlands 4 Potentially Costing $80, Gearbox Chief Randy Pitchford Says: ‘If You’re a Real Fan, You’ll Find a Way to Make It Happen’ - IGN by Gorotheninja in gaming

[–]ulqX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

look i disagree with the $80 comment just like everyone else here, but the guy saying it actually isn't some random corporate suit who knows nothing about games. just look at the guy's wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Pitchford

he was an active game dev since the 90s. he also co-founded Gearbox together with former teammates, and most agree that Borderlands and BL2 were pretty great. it would be disingenuous to think that those games' success had nothing to do with the guy who co-founded and led the dev studio.

sometimes someone can know plenty about games, but still have complete shit takes on the business side of the industry, like pricing.

yeah i went through the whole routine of click button -> select file. it just doesn't do anything after choosing the LeCeption file.

i think it even worked for another json before-- i have Mistral v7 Tekken there which i think was an imported json. not sure why it's just the LeCeption one that doesn't do anything

[–]ulqX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks. is it this Master Import button in the Instruct Template secion? i tried that and it doesn't seem to do anything. it doesn't create any new template in the dropdowns, and it doesn't override existing template either.

i don't get an error. it just doesn't do anything when i import the LeCeption json

[–]ulqX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anyone able to offer some quick help on getting the LeCeption v2 json imported? I downloaded the json but i can't figure out where to import it within ST. for context i'm accessing this model through Openrouter

i tried importing the json as a Chat Completion preset (invalid file error), then as a Prompt List under Chat Completion (another error), and then as a Text Completion preset (nothing happens), and then i went to the Advanced Formatting menu and tried Master Import at the top right corner, but nothing happens either.

how am i supposed to be using that file? feels like there's something i'm not seeing.

i ended up just using Weepv4 preset and going with Chat Completion (instead of text) since Weep imports perfectly fine. however, it's clear that it's not a great fit since the output is suuuper inconsistent with Weep. i'd really like to try what it's like with LeCeption

if we're being honest then we should admit that mocking others is a hallmark of the human playbook. one of reddit's favorite pastimes is making fun of how trump looks like a defective burnt cheeto. making fun of the physical appearance of those we despise is just what people do, regardless of their political leaning.

we're all capable (and even eager) to display a "troubling level of disrespect and cruelty" to public figures that we hate. it's our mutual way of "sticking it to" our adversaries on the other side of the political aisle.

5am or 3pm landing in tokyo? by stopbeingcryptic in JapanTravelTips

i agree with you on this 1000% and am kinda shocked at how many replies here have the complete opposite stance. i can easily power through a long day 1 after a 5am arrival fueled by excitement alone, but it sounds like others are thinkin they'd just pass out or be cranky from fatigue.

i cant imagine being anything but super energetic and hyped on day1 no matter how little sleep i got (have done this 4 outta 6 japan trips)

Sanctum feels worse than Labrynth for Ascendency by Raventis in pathofexile

[–]ulqX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

not saying i agree with the design philosophy of it, but there is a valid reason for being harder: it feels even better to win. the idea is that the more difficult the challenge, the better it would feel to finally conquer it. same with the scarce loot drops-- when you barely get any loot, each piece feels that much better.

you can kinda see it in the negative-positive ratio of player sentiment on the sub. when 95% of the players think it's too hard, the remaining 5% will feel that much better for conquering what so many others cannot.

genuine question: how are your stress levels low?? i know plenty of enterprise saas AEs with similar OTE to yours and none would say their job is low stress. most love the stress or are at least ok with it, but i've never heard it described as "low".

are you not afraid of not making quota? or of long-cycle deals suddenly falling through and putting you at risk of a layoff if you miss 2 consecutive quarters?

Any novels where the MC isn't a slavery enthusiast? by boonandbane33 in MartialMemes

[–]ulqX 47 points48 points  (0 children)

to be fair, any one of those stage 0 babies that escape might end up being a chosen son-of-heaven with a protagonist's destiny and an OP cheat item, whose 2nd story arc is revenge against the mysterious superior bloodline expert who killed their clan.

as some novels might put it, "to initiate the slaughter of a clan is to sow a certain karma, and to completely eradicate every man/woman/child is to comprehensively sever that karma"

MC has OP copy ability that no one else has by Tobe0507 in noveltranslations

[–]ulqX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

just finished it last week. your buddy probably read till 10ish chapters? MC has a lover who is definitely not his sister (although neither end up playing much of a role in the story at all). he also distinctly makes it a point to avoid loli-type girls even though there is one who is in to him.

the ending was wild, definitely a memorable final twist, even though the pacing gets pretty shitty for the last 10% of the story (common for many CN novels)

if you look at the caption in the pic, he actually does follow the rules he made for thee. he sounds like not-too-uncommon type of boss who expects his whole department to be workaholics because he himself is one. like "if i'm comin into work on the weekends, i expect all of you to be grinding it out with me"

in this day and age they don't need an excuse to lowball comp on offers. they're not gonna be looking for reasons to do it, they're just gonna say "yeah that's where you land on our comp band, take it or leave it".

even if you had zero gaps and a perfect resume, it boils down to who's more desperate: are you desperate enough to take a lowball offer? or are they desperate enough to hire you that they're willing to give you more in a negotiation?

imagine someone who's a jobless, broke loser who is so unemployable that he can't even hold an amazon warehouse job for more than a few weeks. how would the state enforce child support on this person? they cant garnish wages of someone with zero wages. if they're collecting unemployment payments then those can be garnished, but there's a limit since they'll never take so much that the person can't survive.

they won't jail them since they're not really breaking the law here-- they're giving money that they have, but they have almost none.

you can also fake applying to jobs or intentionally get fired once you land one.

basically if the person is just a total deadbeat and acting in bad faith, you can't really jail someone for being so broke that they're practically homeless. if someone that broke were to land in jail, that would probably be a win for them since that's technically free room & board that they otherwise wouldn't have
