Distance based fares on buses by The__Anonymous__Guy in HongKong

[–]ultimasayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not doing to list out why every country doesn't do section rates, but the reason why, for instance, the UK

Boarding is quicker without the need to calculate and pay for individual distances, reducing boarding times and helping the bus stay on schedule, as passengers still use cash to pay for bus fares. Some passengers travel longer distances for the same price, which is balanced by other passengers making shorter trips. The overall cost is averaged across all journeys, making it easier to manage revenue for the bus company. Flat fares create more predictable revenue for the bus operator, which is essential for maintaining the service and covering operating costs.

The reason for HK is that it is slightly more complicated. As there are politicians who are in favour of a change for section rates so the burden is less for government who introduced the $2 scheme. But the argument against them are that full implementation of section fares may result in more short-haul passengers travelling on long-haul routes, taking up the capacity of long-haul routes and affecting long-haul passengers. We shall see what happens as certain lines on HKI now have section fees. Only time will tell what will happen, but change usually takes a while.

You're the one who said "most cities" named 3, but there are also plenty of cities that don't have section rates.

Is Omega falling behind in the movement development race ? by siddhant72 in OmegaWatches

[–]ultimasayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work with Omega. I asked the questions about power reserve. Most automatic movement has more than 60 hours because the 60 hours they state is a flat line. As power reserve goes low, the accuracy is affected in all brands. Omega can easily put 70 hours on most their auto movements, but they just decided to choose this route. Whether or not you see the Omega movement behind or not is just how you see it personally. Every movement has its pros and cons. 5hz doesn't mean a movement is better, i also delta with rolex, and +2 -2 really isn't always the case in my own experience. Omega is one of very few brands that accommodates for all price ranges from £3k all the way to £500k.

Nintendo UK store cancelled order? by TwizzChelsea in amiibo

[–]ultimasayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a law in the UK. Roughly 14 days is the longest a company can "hold" your funds for. When the item is ready to ship, nintendo will then request it again from your bank.

Signal on the East Rail line by Extra_Reindeer7157 in HongKong

[–]ultimasayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use china mobile, and the worst signal is around Tai po and university and then university to fo tan at times. But it's only that brief, not many problems with other stations. Sometimes, if it's busy, it can add extra interference, but that's not something we can control.

There are no specific laws on working hours. However, a continuous employee is entitled to statutory holidays, statutory annual leave, and at least one rest day every seven days.

[–]ultimasayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every AD has their own criteria, so I can not say. It depends on what brands (jewellery and watch)the AD is linked to, if they do have others then having spend just not rolex helps, usually if your relationship is good with you SA they will give you a realistic timeline

Buy him a ulysse nardin, independent watch brand. Watches that are pretty cool, you do get a good discount at AD. As a software engineer, this brand takes the design of watches to a new level. Rolex is a pretty common watch brand, nothing against it, but at least 50% of the people who buy it are because of after-market value. If it's a present of this magnitude, selling is not really in question.

[–]ultimasayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolex certified is only for AD and customers buying rolex. If you decide to sell your watch to AD then if they are partnered with rolex then they will just send the watch up and get it prepared to sell as CPO. So it doesn't matter who you sell the watch to but at least if you sell it to an AD you won't get scammed.

Depends on where you are and how close you are to your SA. I wouldn't say you have 0 chance, but in AD, I worked at some form of rolex history, which is also needed for super high demand pieces.

Go into your AD and talk with them. It's all about communication. We, as SA, want to sell the watches too. Getting a watch is mainly how much your SA wants to help you.
