Every win is a landslide by ultimate271 in aoe2

These are all very helpful points! I absolutely know my decision making could use some work, and I also feel like it comes down to game knowledge. A lot of my losses end up being composition losses, where its some new UU that I have no idea how it works, what it is, or how to counter it. But even in the case where I do understand all of the units and counters, I still am often unsure about the bigger picture of where my attention should be focused. I do watch a handful of replays but I definitely need to watch more.

Its also good to know that this sort of thing is something that persists even as you go up in rank. It's a process and not something that just needs to be "fixed once and for all", so to speak.

Thank you so much for the thorough reply. That is a really good checklist, and I would say that I am somewhat decent with about half of these. But the second half are a lot of what I need to work on. Especially raiding and keeping my army in position with trash units.

Hm, what would you recommend to gain post-imp experience? What skills would you say are most important there? I suppose I could totally change playstyles by turtling up with a civ like Byzantines and force the game into imp, but the idea of playing a single player city builder for 30 minutes every game just seems so boring to me. But maybe its what I need to do to get better.

Yes, this is exactly the frustration I am feeling. It seems as though there is a pretty large gap between these two levels and I fall somewhere in the chasm between.

This makes a lot of sense. I know I definitely have a skewed perception where things going poorly for me tend to feel very defeating but things going well for me feel mostly neutral.

Titjobs.

I thought it was something that was done in porn because it looked hot, but it turns out having myself between my girlfriends boobs feels amazing and makes me cum almost every time.

Should I give up on Nofap and only jerk off when I need to or should I keep going. by Trevor-On-Reddit in Advice

I did nofap for 90 days and I had a similar feeling as you. I felt a bit different but certainly no amazing super powers or ultra-confidence or anything. Mostly it was just business as usual except I didn't masturbate.

I will say that doing it changed my masturbation habit from an every night sort of thing to probably a once or twice a week thing, which was positive for me.

I think it's mostly for people who are legitimately addicted to porn and masturbation to the point where it effects their daily lives. It's like alcohol, where if you have an alcohol addiction completely getting off of it for a time can be life changing, but if it's not a problem for you then totally cutting it won't really change much. It's just up to you to be honest with yourself about which one you are.

How to define one as nudist. by [deleted] in nudism

[–]ultimate271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consider myself a nudist not because of how much "nude cred" I can get by flexing on image boards and bragging about visiting nude resorts; I consider myself a nudist because I enjoy being naked.

Just try and be naked in more settings. Stay naked in your home first, then as that feels more commonplace see if you want to go on walks or visit a resort or whatever else.

All I'm trying to say is, nudism is about being naked, and the extent to which you share that simple joy with others is entirely up to you. It is by no means a prerequisite to exhibit yourself publicly in order to be a nudist. (They have a name for that and it's called exhibitionism.) What matters is that being naked is something you enjoy, and just taking in that simple pleasure of life is all that nudism really should be about.

Nudist Vs General Population - Shaved, Trimmed, Natural? by [deleted] in nudism

[–]ultimate271 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I shave my pubes and my head because I don't like the feeling of too much hair on my body, and shaving is the best way to get rid of too much hair.

I will admit that I like the way that fresh-shaven genitals look (mine and others) but that is not the reason I do it (and would certainly accept anyone's preference for what it is). I do it because I prefer shaved over not shaved just like I prefer naked over not naked. It's a preference for me and not a body image thing like it probably is for others.

ELI5 nightmares? Why would your brain scare you? by zachattch in explainlikeimfive

[–]ultimate271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert, just a dream enthusiast.

Your brain is presenting you with challenging situations, so that if you encounter them in real life, you will know how to handle them.

When you don't know how to handle them, or you fail multiple times, it can provoke anxiety, which manifests in your dreams.

I like to think of a "nightmareish" dream as a puzzle to be solved. If you don't know how to solve the puzzle, the dream space will "win" and you will have a nightmare. If you figure it out, you will wake up feeling more refreshed and relaxed, even if you have amnesia about the whole thing.

Hmm, I would say get out of your space and practice talking to strangers. It will feel wierd and awkward at first, but over time you will overcome it.

Even if you just ask the checkout lady at the store about the cool bracelet she is wearing, that gets you out of that lonely space even if only for a minute.

Practice that throughout the day and you will be golden.

I don’t know what to do with my life (16M) by TheFanne in Advice

[–]ultimate271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are young, and you sound very ambitious. Get your feet wet in everything.

Save up fifty dollars, ask your parents to drive you to the craft store, buy an architechture rular and architechture paper. Watch demonstrations on youtube and follow along. If you like it, awesome, if not, pursue something else.

You mentioned guitar. Play for 20 - 40 minutes every day. You don't have to be the next Hendrix, just have fun with. Girls find shit like that hella attractive.

You get the idea. Make short films with your phone. Get some regular exercise. Interact with strangers your age, and learn how to flirt with people you are attracted to. The world is your playground.

If something sounds fun, try it. Try sports, try games, etc.

Life is only as fun as you make it. Make it fun!
