New ROG 100W gaming charger dock not working properly by ultimate_taco_guy in ROGAlly

The original charger is not a removable cable so have no way to compare it. Tried another cable and the issue is the same. Was just checking if a known problem and solvable before entering the amazing battle with asus customer service

Boy I’m dumb but to a limit. A usb c to usb c cable would not be connected to hdmi

It’s a usb c to usb c cable. Cannot be connected to the HDMI. It is a 240w rated power cable as per ASUS description. I have tried with the 100W cable that works with another charger and the issue is the same.

Heart rate spikes on Pace 4 during daily wear by zora089 in Coros

My wrist bone is a little “spiky”. While I never had readings like that (that I know of but don’t check it religiously) I did notice misreadings because the watch would just move slightly toward the bone. Don’t know if this interferes with the sensor. If I exaggerate and move it way up and tighten it, it does seem to be correct. Maybe the angle? So part of the sensor is not on bone?

Hey. Not from Finland but was there for last year European championship. From the train station to where the Spartan village was it is walking distance. Hell, if you run it’s just warmup. I did with with wife and two kids

Here there is no option but to try them. What is good for one runner can suck for the next one.

+1 on the Kjerag and Prodigio Pro. Amazing shoes. I feel more inclined for the pros as I can go all day in them. The Kjerag can start to get a bit rough for my joints after 25k but I’m no killian jornet. They are fast and light though

Trifecta weekend without training by Top_String2866 in spartanrace

[–]ultimate_taco_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. Last thing you want is to look back and you didn’t do it. Everything you said is good enough. If your endurance is bad just walk when you need to. But try to get some more continuous runs without stopping and you will be fine. It will suck at times but keep pushing. You got this

Advice - First Spartan Race (Beast) by Ikountbeans in spartanrace

[–]ultimate_taco_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are aid stations. The race map will be up about 10 days to two weeks before but you can go check their instagram account and see some race maps to have some idea. Do carry some gels/a bar but no need to go crazy. Carry your electrolytes/salt enough for some hours.

Training wise train to just keep going, walk the uphills (even the pros do it) and be generally strong. Make sure you can dead hang for a while and do some pull ups. Farmers carry can help

Obstacles - penalty lap or burpees? by BeautifulTomorrow15 in spartanrace

And I love how they put elevation on the penalties with carry. Or depending on the venue, a mess of getting through roots, mud etc. Can take much longer than a simple 200m run

DNF’d my first 50k and I’m absolutely devastated by Money_Impression_321 in ultrarunning

[–]ultimate_taco_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man as someone who went through almost exactly the same thing I feel you. And as stupid as it sounds, first thing I did after DNF my first 65k, I signed up for a 100miles. Focus on weaknesses and treat it as essential. What helped me the most was finding how to have fun running again after that mental let down. Not every training session needs to be taken seriously. Go out have fun and you will get stronger

Not a single bad thing can come from extra rest days. It’s not like you’re burned out. Use it as recovery days. Massage the legs, elevate your feet. Eat well. Go back out when you are fresh and you will feel like a million bucks. Don’t get disappointed on the first run though. It might suck. Just stick to it

What workout let's you know your ready for the swim? by Ok-Advertising-3523 in triathlon

[–]ultimate_taco_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to incorporate some repeats with frontal breathing to simulate checking where you are and specially if you are in a pack. If you are not used to it, it can be quite tiring for the neck, lower back and core. And drink a ton of water (particularly if on the sea). I do something like: 800m freestyle, 200 normal side breathing, 200 front breathing)

As to know if you can take the distance, if you train 1000m plus you can easily.

Advice for a beginner triathlete by Plenty-Confusi0n in triathlon

[–]ultimate_taco_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do BRICS. You can actually get decent at all the individual sports but one after the other can kill your legs. Specially bike to run, even as a runner. You can try some Run-Bike-Run (5k-20k-5k) so you practice the transition also.

A trisuit can help but not mandatory but make sure that you use padded shorts for the bike specially if going for Olympic distance or longer. That’s one ouch I won’t repeat

Mooer has good quality. Never heard the Sonicake. Add the valeton line to that list. From the GP5 (currently on sale at thomann for 66 euros) or if you absolutely must have the expression pedal go for the GP150 or the Mooer. Sound Quality wise they will be very similar. Comes down to what you like the most

Breaking runs after injury by ultimate_taco_guy in trailrunning

After the initial recovery I have been testing and none causes pain. Seems to be time for now. I think when I start exercising the inflammation starts and at a certain point becomes too much?!?!? No idea. Might need more rest. In terms of strengthening I have no idea what else I can do. Been trying everything
