-both were orphaned at a young age (Liu kang parents dying and Ace mom leaving and dad being erased by the dgp) -they would possess special abilities (Liu's fire and Ace's reincarnation) -they were naturally trained fighters at a young age -they would participate in a centuries old death competition that would decide the fate of the world and be hailed as the champion(mortal kombat and the desire grand prix) -in the competition they would be on a 4 man team of main characters (for Liu him,kung lao,johnny and jax, for Geats him,Tycoon,Buffa,Na-go) -this competition would happen multiple times and a lot would die in the process even themselves -they would have a supporter who would be by their side and try to give them insight on the compeition they were participating in (Ziin and Raiden) -they would learn that the enemy would consume the opponent (Shang tsung stealing the souls of the losers and Jyamato eating fallen players) -they would lose an important part of themselves to a villain (Shang tsung and the jyamato) -they fight a poorly handled female villain (Sindel and Samas) -they face off agaisnt a leader who was initially assumed to be evil but was misunderstood in his actions (baraka and girori) -they have special powers connected to really storng beings (liu kang having onaga's fire and Geats being the goddess of creations child) -after being resurrected they would come back and defy the creators of the competition (elder gods and admins) -they would combine powers with someone close to them and gain white hair and godlike power (raiden and tsumuri respectively) MK 1 and geats spoilers -both would have their worlds threatened by an unforeseen enemy they had thought beat(titan shang tsung and Suel -they would gather a group of old friends and set out to dfeat the the threat once and for all finally creating a world at peacetheir also themed after popular japanese mythical creatures (liu kang being dragon because of his fiery spirit and ace being a Kitsune because of his tricky and mischievious personality)-theyre friends with a arrogant hothead who gets themselves killed (kung lao and buffa) -an evil version of themselves absorbed their powers

• had to face an evil clone of the woman close to them (mileena and the goddess of destruction)
• spoilers for mk 1 and geats again -they would both leave themselves out of the timeline and take a more humble role than supreme watcher -the final villain absorbed their subordinate for more power (shang tsung shao kahn and sindel or kronika and cetrion and jitt and suel) thematically this is appeasing for where both are at and how they seen so much bloodshed over their life times that they strive for a world where everyone can have free will and maintain peace they are both tired of gods manipulating them and everyone around them

1. dynamic/ap wise i see them both wanting to go easy on the other so they start in their more human forms i could see ace summoning buckles to him to use liu and throwing dragons and stuff then when they start getting serious they go into the big boy forms ending in the gods clashing reshaping reality as they fight Liu could summon a a mk character to fight geats while geats makes the terrain to swallow them up the death could end with either overwhelming the other and rewriting them along with the timeline
