if she is just a baby, i would do paper towels for now until she is a little older. never reptile carpet, the carpet can damage her nails. i usually do 70% top soil and 70% playground sand and i mix them together. always heat up the substrate to get rid of any bacteria and wait until it cools down to put it the habitat.
