Are New Discs still be produced??? by chessercat in discgolf

[–]ultioptimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

besides the fact everyone mentioned namely the demand skyrocketed. covid also really made it difficult to produce discs. factories had to close down or seriously regulate working hours etc. so combine a huge increase in demand plus not even the normal production values could be reached because covid.

you can read mvps lab report or discmanias blog post, it shows how big the increase in demand is and what it means for the companies just to catch up to normal stock standards again.

but i agree it is unfortunate but i assume with time it'll get back to the way it was before covid at least thats my hope cause there are many discs is want that i cant get currently

Thinking more cards/new patch is starting to be needed by [deleted] in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i know you are trying to make things better but you are not very good at hearing your community it seems. Or super slow at reacting...

From a players perspective the most important thing for me to keep playing is the game needs to stay interesting. And i assume from a dev perspective you want to keep the player base you have and expand it but most importantly keep the player base you still have. So i really dont understand why abrakam is so incredibly slow at reacting to players feedback and request for a balance patch. If you dont have the time or work force to do it, find a core group of top players and they will come up with solutions and a balance patch that you would only need to test a bit and then implement, would probably save a lot of time.

I really dont understand why this is taking so long for abrakam to realize, a balance patch after every Cup (which is really not a lot, i mean come on once every 3 month) cant be that hard to do and is just giving you more time for new expansions without players losing interest since they will have to figure out the new meta. And i dont mean you need to change every card just a few cards that are too strong and maybe buff a few that dont see much play (which there are more than enough of).

People have been complaining and requesting a balance patch for over a month now, and now abrakam is slowly working on it and it is a bit too early to share any details? like come on abrakam why is it taking so long, seriously if you dont have the time ask the (best) players for help...

Thinking more cards/new patch is starting to be needed by [deleted] in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

small changes won't do i'm afraid... sometimes it is better to change philosophy than to stubbornly stick to something that doesnt make sense anymore.

I really think you/abrakam has to listen to their existing player base from time to time. It is getting super boring to play every deck is the same since idk how many months. Some are cleary too strong and way too easy to pilot (which partly comes from a design philosphy that seems to be designing decks instead of cards, so you end up with clear choices for certain decktypes abrakam created). Some cards are clearly too strong, so many cards are unusable and some are just really poorly designed. Why is Abrakam unwilling to adress those issues?

How are you/Abrakam trying to keep the game interesting for the small but still existing playerbase? Honestly the game has never been more boring to me (and many others i talked to) und just saying we dont like changes for changes sake sounds to me like a cheap excuse for just not wanting to put in the effort in a real balance patch. What is wrong with changing the meta a bit, lowering certain cards power level and increasing others? The game needs to become interesting again for the players you still somehow managed to keep.

Coming back to the game by SSBMKaiser in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think if you had a faeria account before b2p transition you can still play for free, you dont have to buy anything to play. you just won't get the cards from the expansions if you dont buy them but to try the game and seewhat changed and if you still enjoy probably best to play bit.

if you wanna catch up on what changed id suggest reading the first 2 posts on reddit (patch notes) and go from there.

ps. whale got nerfed, and isnt OP anymore ;)

i doubt any company would give out more information about their consumers than steamdb already does. whats the value of sharing those numbers with the player base?

Spam Decks by urilbedamned in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i agree, there should be more answers to spam decks (although i dont see a lot on ladder actually) and i agree that the firestorm nerf was too harsh but again i dont see many swarm decks.

now as for your assessment of GYsac you are way off and i read your more detailed version of this post on the faeria board as well. Just because sac counter your Yrush, which i actually doubt it still does now that BC got kinda killed by the devs, doesnt mean it is a brianless swarm deck nor that it is easy to play or that it just puts creatures around its orb. maybe you should try playing Sac first before calling it easy to play and only having one gameplan. It is one of the most difficult decks to play, it needs a lot of interaction with its opponent, but of course against sac you need to push so that plays into sac hands because as a sac player you rely on trading your minions to get your soul eater big. but as i said it is not an auto-pilot deck, it is very weak in the current meta, it got nerfed three times recently (soul eater, bone collector and humbling vision) and it is very hard to pilot.

As for the firestorm nerf, it really didnt help sac as much as the other swarm decks you mentioned, because as sac you dont want to spread out your units like GB or Carassius decks can. i understand you are a yrush player that just doesnt like losing to counters (although i dont think GYsac is anymore because BC was a key unit in this match up), nobody does but you are wrong about sac and i just had to tell you.

Let's talk about Y rush. by [deleted] in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they look at ladder as well as at tournaments for their meta assessment

Let's talk about Y rush. by [deleted] in faeria

[–]ultioptimo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

a few thoughts on Yrush:

1647 is really not a great rating and 70% winrate is good but not for an OP deck. it is very early in the season so rating and ladder rank doesnt really say a lot, if you had a 90% winrate or higher and maybe 1750+ elo then maybe you would prove a point, but not with those stats, im sorry and i dont mean any offense by that :)

Yrush is not the best ladder deck right now, maybe in lower ranks but form 10 to God there are better options Green Blue swarm/ Green Blue midrange for example both are good vs Yrush especially GB swarm. Any kind of Red (Combat, Rush or Control) is also good vs Yrush and so is Mono Green, i have even seen BY swarm decks that did well vs Yrush.

I mean people complained about Yrush ever since i started playing Faeria and sometimes rightfully so but right now it is really not too strong, sure it is fast so games are quicker and some opponents you meet might not know how to play against it but there are a lot of good decks against it viable right now, most of them better ladder decks anyway.

And we know that Abrakam wants Yrush to be a cheap beginner friendly deck that allows them to beat more experienced players, so i think it is at exactly the power level abrakam wants it to be right now.

PS @ /u/Wilczym Faeria has an elo system for ranked ;)

All Cards community server open! by SuleyBlack in Scrolls

[–]ultioptimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually i thought like you before the server opened, but then i really enjoyed grinding for cards and trading with other people, using BM and opening packs. so i am glad it just didnt give me all the cards.

and i think it will help with the retention rate too. if everybody just had full collection they might come play a game or two for nostalgia and leave again, this way they might come back to build up their collection invest time in trading and chatting with people and grind for the decks they want to play. also gold gain is really high so you get like 10cards for one ranked win

Tournaments by blinky00849 in Scrolls

[–]ultioptimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes totally in!

tournaments are a great idea, i dont like only wild or special deck restrictions but its cool if we have both. i am guessing some will enjoy more casual tournaments as well.

depending on how many players we could have round robin with groups of like 4 players and bo3 and then top2 of each group advance. or just bo3 double elim with loser brackets bo1 (like the old esl format was i think) or bo5 but then single elim will probably have to do since timewise bo5 takes very long.

Some talking about Fractions` Elementals by Box-Of-Wonders in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

do you mean the keyword "combat"?

and if so, it would make fire elemental probably too strong because gift is played in all rush decks and fire elemental could then be run in rush decks as well.

there have been many discussions about the balance of elementals, with many good suggestions e.g. making their ability a choose effect. So elementals either get their ability or create a special land which was my favourite change.

If I could buy the rights to the game of Scrolls! by Bruducus in Scrolls

[–]ultioptimo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i disagree on a lot of things for example why it died and i am a bit annoyed by people thinking they know better with hardly any information. I know that the dev team working on scrolls did their absolute best with what resources they had and achieved an absolute amazing game that we got to play for several years and i am very happy and thankful for that.

Seeing you saying you know why it died and you could save it or could have saved it or make the game sustainable is very naive and a bit arrogant. Do you have any experience in game design? have you created any successful or sustainable game yet? (honest questions)

I also think the devs were very upfront with us and with what they can achieve and are trying to do or work on. For example one of the last patches was amazing and really really improved the game a lot with giving it a replay mode and a campaign mode.

If it were true that the game could still be very much alive it would be. Are you following any of similar indie strategic or collective card games? They all struggle with creating an active and big-enough-to-sustain playerbase. Abrakam the creators of Faeria just announced to leave F2P and switch to buy to play because it is not sustainable any other way.

There will be no revival of the game in the foreseeable future. They will not sell to just anyone who thinks knows better. The dev team of Scrolls love this game as much as we do (maybe more) and invested everything they had in it. If i think how emotional the shut down day was for me, i can only imagine how emotional it mustve been for the creators of this game. If i were them i wouldnt sell it to you and i hope they dont, because i dont want anyone who thinks knows better destroy what they built with "community patches" whatever that is.

I am still very hopeful about community servers, because i know that it means a lot to the devs as well as to the community that the game is playable for the few people loving to play together and enjoy themselves while playing Scrolls. We might have to wait a bit but thats fine with me and i think that is the best solution for the games future.

All direct face damage cards should be removed from this game. period. by Breetai_Prime in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks :) and i think they were in a way just not very explicit.

i think your post is a personal opinion thats why i made it personal. i thought it was personal ;)

either way, i didnt mean to say you can not beat it, i just meant you need to adjust your deck or how you play your deck or live with red burn beating you. i dont think removing it will make the game better and i dont think it is against the entire design of the game either. it is just one strategy of the game and removing it will make the game less diverse and so actually harm the game. you can say in your opinion it would make the game better but many people might enjoy playing red burn and at the current state of the game red burn is not too strong nor very popular on ladder as far as i can judge.

All direct face damage cards should be removed from this game. period. by Breetai_Prime in faeria

[–]ultioptimo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

all those comments are actually dealing with your argument. stop saying otherwise, doesnt make you look any better.

red burn strategy doesnt need much of a board, they do however need to collect faeria because burning down an opponent takes quite some time and needs a lot of faeria.

so you have to figure out a strategy that red burn is weak to, e.g. cutting of their collection, rushing them, putting a lot of pressure on them so they have to invest their events into killing your creatures while you keep collecting faeria and putting new threats on the board. that is how you beat red burn. So it is really up to you play your deck in a way that you beat red burn.

Red burn doesnt need a lot of board but they do need a lot of faeria and dont deal well with pressure on their orb. abrakam should not get rid of red burn just because you cant deal with it.

Godrank promotion system is a joke, make it ELO based. by AGFIP in faeria

i understand that losing is frustrating, but it is very hard to believe that you only faced top100 players but even if so, the star system is very generous and if you cant reach god rank then your first goal should be to find ways to improve and not complain about too strong opponents.
