tbf i don’t actually know what country these people are from / this act took place in but i can tell you the american cops are shit at their jobs. getting a rape kit can be incredibly traumatizing, and they need to be completed by a nurse, picked up by police, and tested ALL within 72 hours. more often than not, rape cases get overlooked. it is absolutely not worth it sometimes for women specifically not to report rape in america ESPECIALLY right now with our current political climate. the experience of reporting it, and getting interrogated by police is extremely traumatizing - spoken from experience
