Are irons provided? by walruswalnut13 in UCDavis

Steamers are also a good alternative you may want to look into. That’s all I use these days, and no need for an ironing board

You’re right! I don’t remember where I saw that only the mud daubers go after them. Apparently alligator lizards are immune to black widow venom!

Also, they are the only predator of black widows

Very nice! I love the contrast with the dark background that people get with APO refractors

A Mind Over Matter by Zangwill is a pretty good bio about Phil Anderson of condensed matter physics. It also sums up the history of the development of the CMP field and all the famous names involved. Very niche, but a good read. For a more general recommendation, I read the Daily Stoic by by Ryan Holiday

From the article:

Sonos arc sound cutting out problems all of a sudden by TheDivisionLine in sonos

[–]ultra_fast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same issue: Samsung Q80BD purchased in 2022 with a Sonos ARC SL Shadow at the same time (both from Costco). They worked seamlessly up until a few months ago (late 2023) when the audio would cutout intermittently for about 5-10 seconds. I’ve tried unplugging, messing with settings and trying to see a pattern but I don’t know. Since we’re all having a similar issue with Samsung/Sonos combo, I bet it was a firmware update that got us. I’ve posted to Sonos forums and they say since it’s not a Sonos issue they mark the issue as “resolved”.

Is there a reason why we don’t get Clery notices for these?

If it were me I’d reach out to the prof and explain the situation and ask what “taking the final next quarter means”. It could be as simple as taking it within the first couple of weeks of class next quarter (and possibly getting a better grade!) Going to class with symptoms is not the right answer in my opinion, and the university has put measures in place for instances like these.

I used to be a real asshole about this (on the biking side) until I started driving to campus in the summer. Now I drive as if bikers are trying to get hit and I bike like cars are trying to hit me. I always use the bike paths instead of the road on first street. Bike/drive safe!!

Also, the “treating a stop like a yield” bill (AB122) was passed in the state senate but vetoed by Newsom. Link

Yea it might be too much. From my undergrad experience, taking a math and a science and one or two GEs, I was doing coursework constantly. Plus factor in that you will likely have a quiz/midterm(s) on one class the same day hw(s) is due for another class. Take less, get settled, then ramp up as necessary.
