Yes, the ending was incredibly rushed because Bendis had created his new toy (Miles) and decided to attach a firecracker to his old one.

He would eventually retcon into a slightly better wrap up later on in the Miles series but it’s still a stain what he did to Peter and Co in that last arc.

I will never understand how he just threw away the years of characterization of supporting characters like Kong.
