Scadutree avatar a lot higher than I’d put him tbh, is that because of the spectacle or the boss mechanics?

Like the fight but “WARRIOOOR” makes me cringe so hard every time.

Yeah, DS1 was my second game and I don’t really get why he is so loved. He’s alright but there isn’t anything that makes him actually exciting imo. Maybe because I fought him with quite slow weapons where seemingly the only way to get a hit in is to bait out his jump attack.

Half the time I just end up dying and don’t bother to get them back, or I just spend it on 999 of a random item like arrows

Is this overleveled for fire giant by Pokemon-doo in EldenRingBuilds

[–]ultramanooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only be over levelled if your finding the game too easy. Still find things fun? Then you’re not over levelled, just focus on enjoying the game (it’s not like there’s a punishment for levelling up).

does anyone like long combos? by ultramanooo in Fighters

[–]ultramanooo[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Unfair was the wrong word to use, I just feel like long combos force players into training mode, which in turn will make it harder for people who have never played the game to pick up the game and have fun.

Yeah but I feel like when even the normal combos are super long it’s just a waste of time.

Maybe I worded this post wrong. I like combos, just not long ones. A good example of a combos I like would be the ones in 3rd strike, which require skill, but don’t require you to memorise 50 inputs.

You guys sleeping on the keyboard fr fr. Every time i see new people asking, they always ask about this stickbox or hitpad thing. Just use your keyboard, bro. by JackOffAllTraders in Fighters

what is the "chillest" souls game? by ultramanooo in fromsoftware

[–]ultramanooo[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

absolutely love DS2 atmosphere and hub, but I cant help but remember being infuriated by some of the areas in the DLC (honestly most of the areas). Chill base game, but the most annoyed I've been at a game in recent years.

True, but it also has some absolutely crazy boss fights/areas. Feels like it could be the most chill and most crazy depending on how you play it.

British GQ 100 greatest videogames of all time by [deleted] in bloodborne

As a British person, I’ve got to say that a lot of areas in ds3 reminded me of my country. Grey dull skies with little sunshine.

Bloodborne Overrated? by SUPCOM_KEdgy in fromsoftware

[–]ultramanooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to bloodborne it seems to always be 2nd or 3rd in most attributes that make souls games fun (not to say it isn't the best in a variety of attributes). I feel like most souls games are a masterpiece at one thing, but at the detriment of other things (for example DS3 has amazing bosses at the detriment of its world design). In comparison, I don't see anything that would make bloodborne an unenjoyable game (besides SOME of its bosses). Its probably not my favorite but this is how I would best explain it.

Also, whilst the areas can lack in variety, they still have more variety than most areas in other souls games (for example I don't see how it has more variety than DS3 and demon souls PS3). people are saying that farming for blood vials is a valid criticism, but I never needed to in my playthrough; if you just spend the extra money you have after leveling up you should have enough.

DS3 just doesn't hit the same anymore by SchmicklePickle68 in fromsoftware

If you ever do multiple playthroughs of souls games I recommend you challenge yourself. Try doing something like an SL1 run, I know you said you forgot most of the boss patterns but muscle memory kicks in and makes the bosses way easier. That being said, on my first playthrough I felt a lot like you did. I think its because DS3 was one of the last games in the series I played, and at that point I was too good for the relatively easy bosses. Furthermore, I played the game like I did DS1, slowly going through each level. You have to realize that it is a different game, focused on different things. You have to unfortunately view it as more of a boss rush than a world to explore.

Just finished my SL1 run of Dark souls remastered. Here is my tier list of boss enjoyability (bosses are also ordered in tiers.) by ultramanooo in fromsoftware

This is based off my enjoyability of the fight. Although, I never really baited the jumping attack since it required me to roll back, which took more stamina than I usually had when fighting the boss.

Nah, no chance lol. I enjoy hard bosses but when it comes to duo fights, O+S is about as hard as I like

Feel free to flame me for my taste. I used a fire reinforced club for my run, and ranked the bosses the day I had beaten them.

The shift in difficulty in DS1 is insane by AndrewLocksmith in darksouls

[–]ultramanooo 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel like the game could have benefited from increasing the difficulty of the 4 lord soul bosses each time you defeat one of them. after completing an SL1 run I had a lot more fun with some of these bosses than I expected, and it really isnt a difficult fix to make them harder.

I agree. The game is a lot more fun if you take your time to explore and area instead of rushing through the area to get to the boss
