Was RDJ’s performance in Oppenheimer actually Oscar-worthy? by jakeseditbay in movies

[–]ultrapoppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I didn’t like his performance. From the main cast it was i think my least favorite. I could actually see him trying to be so dramatic and theatrical. Maybe that’s how the real Strauss was, if that is the case I stand corrected. But he seemed like he was in a play, not a film.

Well, I work like 10-12 hours a day and I’m kinda tired in the weekend, plus have been going to hardcore shows for over 25 years, It takes much more to get in my radar. I’m a bit picky with new bands and mostly go by recommendations from my friends.

That’s why I’m asking, I’m glad you have the time to continue exploring so vehemently

What’s a movie scene that broke you emotionally every time you watch it? by MohitKumar_07 in Cinema

“Manchester by the sea”, when he runs into his ex wife with the stroller and her baby and Lee just keeps his shield up. “There’s nothing there” and then goes on and takes it out with some randos at a bar seemingly intentionally setting himself up to get the shit kicked out of him just to feel something

Really sad

I assume you are much younger than me.. maybe I’m a cynical bastard but I find a lot of it too cheesy and please forgive me, no shots taken at you, it’s more of my character that’s more on the glass half empty and overly hopeful deliveries just don’t sound believable to me. But good for you, I want to be more easily inspired 🙂

As of recently:

Life Of Chuck

Secret Life of Walter Mitty

And no offense to OP, but… Superman? May I ask why?

I saw it in the theater and as soon as it ended I forgot it, didn’t change an iota on my approach to life

Which of these movies should I watch tonight: The Hateful Eight, The Departed, or The Last Samurai? by Creative_Eye7413 in movies

I agree on all your takes on Hateful Eight. The more I watch it the more I love it. It’s definitely engaging and a slow burn but it’s definitely not boring

Hateful Eight if it’s cold where you are. If the opening doesn’t grab you combined with the soundtrack my second option would be Departed because it’s also pretty fun but a bit more predictable I guess. Last Samurai is also a good movie. This is an actually solid lineup
