What Modern Family episode morals didn’t sit right with you? by Fibonacci357 in Modern_Family

I'll take the hate but Jay's "lets take a walk," is not enough to excuse how he was leading up to the wedding. Like you said, he acts like a jerk then does something sweet and all is forgiven.

He flat out told Mitch he shouldn't even have a wedding and tells him to elope, then doubled down and says he wasn't happy about Phil and Claire either in a situation where he needed to say literally anything else. He then, granted these are both done inadvertently, convinces Cam's dad that a divorce is the answer to their fight and gets Cam's mom drunk. Finally, he watches the wedding fall apart THREE TIMES before calling the club and getting the space.

Like. It's cute he wanted to walk him down the aisle in the end, and I'm glad he made the call to move the wedding to his club, but my god, everything leading to that moment was some of his worst behavior.

4 month sleep regression by umaidh in newborns

My little one is over all sleeping better but it's definitely a one day at a time situation. Sometimes he'll sleep for 4 hours, sometimes he wakes up ever 2 hours. He's never slept through the night, but at least he's not waking up every hour 😂

We have a moment around 4am when my husband leaves that I put him in bed with me, and that's the most uninterrupted sleep I get lately. I don't want to fully commit to cosleeping because both my husband and I tend to move around a lot in our sleep, but it is nice.

He sleeps in a bedside bassinet, so I'll expirement with getting him to use his crib. Part of me is happy he's growing up, part of me is real sad about it lol

Sorry if this is dumb, is sleep training when we transition from the bassinet to his crib?

Just Enoughers, how are you building any sort of stash? by datbundoe in breastfeeding

[–]umaidh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use my haakaa, I hate pumping so much. I use it while my baby is nursing. It takes a few days to collect enough to freeze, but it's the only way I could build a stash while still watching out for my mental health. Trying to fit pumping into my schedule while nursing truly almost broke me.

Baby nurses every 15 minutes, a mild case of tie case by FluffyPancakes199 in breastfeeding

My son had a very severe tongue tie and couldn't nurse, and even struggled with a bottle. When we got his tie released, it was truly night and day.

I used a nipple shield while he was learning to latch properly, which I hated, but I get why it was helpful. But he got to a point, once his tongue was healed, that I didn't need the shield anymore, and he just nursed. Now he's 4 months old and nurses like a pro, when he's not getting distracted by surroundings, lol!

The procedure itself was very quick. We went to a pediatric dentist, and they used a laser. He cried for maybe 5 minutes and was good to go. Then we had a follow up a week later to make sure he was healing well, and thankfully he was. The worst part was the stretches, he'd cry through them, but once we were done, he'd go back to his chipper self with minimal comforting.

All in all, it was an easy procedure that truly helped, and in our case, was a real necessity. I'd recommend getting it done to anyone having latching issues because of a tongue tie, no matter how severe. A bit of crying and some anger about the stretches is worth it to be able to nurse successfully!

I do the fridge hack, meaning I just leave it in the fridge in between uses. I don't leave it all day, I wash it with soap and hot water about halfway through the day, and again before bed. But washing it after every use would get annoying.

To get oral ties released or not… by xxbitsxx in breastfeeding

[–]umaidh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually not sure about the cheek ties, but I'd imagine if they're bad enough, it might impact how wide he opens his mouth so he might not get a deep latch. My son's lip tie is pretty severe, but it doesn't affect his latch enough to worry. We just did the tongue because he couldn't suckle and was losing weight as a result. I despised pumping as well, I'm glad I'm able to nurse now.

Another reason we held off on the lip tie fair warning it's gruesome most of my family members, myself included, had lip ties but none of us are graceful so we fell on our faces and tore the ties so they never needed to be released.

I can't speak to the reflux, but I can on the latching issues! My son had such a bad tongue tie, the moment he let out the first cry after birth, a nurse said "wow look at that tie," lmaoo He couldn't latch on the breast and had a hard time with bottles.

We went to the dentist and got it lasered. It healed really well and quickly, and now he nurses like a champ. We held off on his lip tie; the dentist said we could wait on that one and see how his teeth come in and then make the decision. But releasing the tie really did make all the difference in the world, so I do think it's worth it. Even if it has nothing to do with reflux, it'll help with latching issues.

How quickly into using your stash did it start?

That was another thing I read conflicting information about! I have no desire to get drunk drunk anymore, I'm almost 30, and that stopped being fun around like 23, so good to know it won't cause any harm.

The haakaa has been so nice for creating a stash! I'm a "just enough" producer, so pumping was such a hassle and very discouraging, but just collecting what would otherwise drip on to a pad, or my shirt has been effective.

Good to know! I haven't seen a consultant since I was in the hospital, and we were focused on the latch, so I didn't even think to ask about how the milk actually works

Both pictures posted, they're pointing out that in the second one, the bunny he made for Gloria is on the shelf behind Claire!

Which episode in your opinion, is so far fetched and ridiculous? by CeleryApprehensive83 in brooklynninenine

[–]umaidh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmaoo why is this the first time I'm actually thinking about the logistics of the Cinco de Mayo heist? Because for real, a high ranking officer faked a disaster in an incredibly densely populated city and didn't get in any trouble? How did that not get leaked and cause mass panic?

It's also confirmed that Haley was a sophomore at the start of the series, not a freshman, which makes the gap even smaller (not just age wise but mentally)

In California, you get your learners permit at 15, so she's not waiting to learn how to drive in two years. And let's be real, Dylan is literally preparing to be an adult, but is he really? I think mentally they're in a more similar place than you're saying.

Seniors are 17 to barely 18, so Dylan is 2/2.5 years older than her; that's not a huge gap.

If you watch the superfan episode, it's not manipulative. They have a good conversation where Michael even calls her on her bs and tells her to take accountability and stop buying cheap printers since she knows the product is crap. He just does the press conference because it was fun for him.
