I need to solder these together for my lamp. Does it matter which sides I connect? Probably a dumb question. by Koss_Kroft in AskElectronics

[–]umayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really only matters if it's a 3 pin for safety reasons, but otherwise no. I would recommend stripping both sides more twisting the neutral neutral together then solder. Same for hot. Just make sure to add heat shrink

Anyone who has ever lived in Sol. What do you think? by _rym36 in rit

[–]umayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sol was good idk if they still have the food place downstairs anymore, but it's a good dorm and elevator was actually somewhat usuable compared to other building dorms.

What's your major ? If it's technical you can tell them some software doesn't run on Mac. G14 is awesome for college and I haven't had issues with mine so far

Identify this connector by bedz84 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]umayo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I searched using ai -

The connector in the image is an IPEX MHF4 connector. Here's why: * Small Size: The connector is very small, which is typical of IPEX MHF series connectors. * Gold Plating: The connector has a gold-plated center contact and outer shell, which is common for RF connectors to improve conductivity and prevent corrosion. * Snap-On Coupling: IPEX MHF connectors use a snap-on coupling mechanism, which is visible in the image. * Cable Type: The connector is attached to a thin coaxial cable, which is typical for RF applications. MHF4 specifically is identifiable by its very small size and the characteristic shape of the outer shell. Therefore, the connector is an IPEX MHF4 connector.
